Things that caught my eye...

Image
This is just a teaser....inside the Emporium... More to come!!

How pathetic!

I rarely eat ice cream - rarely. Not because I don't like it. Hell, I love it but it doesn't like me. At all! So all weekend I was craving a McDonald's hot fudge sundae. Last night I finally broke down and got one. Mind you, the last time I had one was about a year ago. So I go through the drive-thru, they hand me the sundae, I put it in the cup holder and drive off to enjoy my sundae at home. As I'm driving, I'm thinking about the gooey hot fudge and how good it's gonna be...and then I get home and see this PATHETIC excuse for a hot fudge sundae.

Morning Moon

Going to work this morning, I came upon a curious sight. I'm quite sure it's the Major, caught redhanded while he is doing his time travel flight, searching for Gorillas that DO blog! Ya think??

Nothing new...

Not much has been going on in my part of the world, mostly because I haven't gone anywhere due to messing up my back - twice! However, Friday night I was feeling good enough to go for a short stroll down at Corona del Mar. I'm sorry for the fuzziness of this photo...my Kodak doesn't do well in low light but at least you get a sense of the mood. I was wishing I was down there with all those people! This one isn't too bad...nice way to end a hectic week!

Almost back to normal!

Sinuses seem to be cooperating and the back paid is just slightly noticeable so I'm feeling almost human again! Work has been insane so I haven't had time to post. Gotta go!

I hate sinuses.

At least mine, I hate. Been suffering with sinus pain on and off for three days now. UGH!

Haunted Restaurant

I was recently interviewed by Jim Harold for one of his paranormal podcasts called The Campfire . At the bottom of this post, there is a link to the podcast so you can listen but I thought I'd give you a written account of my experience because I forgot to tell Jim a couple of tiny details. Minor ones, yes, but they are included here so that you get the whole story, LOL. 12 years ago this month, I was visiting some friends in Hanford, CA and we got to talking about ghosts. They told me about an old jail that had been turned into a restaurant and reportedly, it was haunted. I immediately stated that I wanted to check this place out so we agreed to visit the following day. The next day we went into town and made our way to the restaurant. I was disappointed to see that they were closed but one of my friends noticed that there were people inside so she knocked on the glass. One of the employees came over and opened the door to see what we needed and that’s when my friend asked if we...

Run around Saturday

Image
Woke up extremely early today and I don't know why. Bummer. I get up at 5 Monday through Friday so I really look forward to sleeping until at least 6 on Saturday and Sunday. Grrr... Got up, made coffee, watched an old episode of Ghost Hunters, then went up to my room to put some packages together. Then I got ready, headed out the door and mailed the packages. By this time (11:00 a.m. - ish) I was hungry but needed to buy groceries so I drove to Trader Joe's . While I was there, I grabbed a Lobster Roll for lunch. Yummo! Now I'm going back downstairs to watch some TV. Sorry this picture is of such poor quality - it was taken with my phone.

Podcasting at lunch

Yes, I'm at lunch, earbuds in place, This American Life educating me as I sit here typing. Not much to write about today... So as a public service, I'm going to tell you about Puffy Paws. It's a no kill cat shelter in Florida run by a married couple. Do I know them? No. Have I ever been there? No. But I have a lot of respect for people that help animals. http://puffypawskittyhaven.com/

Orange County Fair Part 3

Awww , look at the baby chicks! And da bunny! Floppy ears is an understatement. This goat is sticking his head through the fence to get at the ribbons! Something spooked him and he pulled his head back, lol ... I love goats. They crack me up. Aren't they the cutest?? This guy looks like his name should be Butch. Here we see Butch's nephews, Larry, Moe and Curly. Admiring the Ferris Wheel again. (And dreaming about funnel cakes!) We stopped at the wine tasting pavilion so my roommate could buy a wine glass and taste some wines.

Orange County Fair Part 2

Look at these...all made of wood. They are truly amazing, in my opinion. I love to see the woodworking exhibits. This jewelry box is amazingly unique! Look at this tank! And this train!! A little further down I have a short video of this demo. You've all heard about it - fried butter! Yuck! What struck me funny is that sooo many people were taking pictures of this sign! Who doesn't love a giant cow? Pretty to look at but you'll never get me on that thing! Like I said, pretty to look at! Gentle oxen can be guided around any object... Even ladies!

Orange County Fair Part 1

This quilt caught my eye because it's a map and the creator placed a pin from every state she's visited. Pretty cool, I think!! My favorite holiday is Halloween so I just HAD to take a picture of this quilt. Oh, look what I found! Love, love, love this! This is so funky that I fell in love with it. Check out this miniature Cinderella's Castle. These military vehicles are all hand made miniatures . Look at Angel Stadium! A luscious bacon cheeseburger made out of.....fabric! In the ceramics department, I found this unique....mug??
