Disneyland and DCA 7-28-17

Image
A quick visit to Disneyland since I had not been there in a while. Right off the bat you can see that something is going on at the parking structure. This is happening on each level. I asked around but no one could tell me what was going on. I know most of you want to see what is going on with Star Wars Land...even though the official name was announced at D23, I find it very cumbersome so I shall continue to refer to it as Star Wars Land. Time to catch the tram but first, I have to find my way to the escalators! Now I'm at my happy place! The trains are running and people are lining up! So I decide to get in line, too! I was really excited about riding the train. So much so that I recorded some thoughts for The Disneyland Gazette. Now ride along with me! I got off the train in ToonTown not realizing that the section with the dinosaurs had been updated. So for your viewing pleasure, here is a link to a video pos...

Festival of Holidays and Disneyland

Image
We are continuing our visit to DCA and the Festival of Holidays, with a quick visit to Disneyland, too! I had to get a close-up of these lights. They are just so darn cool. This blew my mind....can you believe I got a picture of this with NO PEOPLE???? Time to head on over to Disneyland! The Main Street train station was all decked out for the Candlelight Procession. Here's a short clip taken on Main Street. Here are some castle shots because really, you can never have too many castle shots, right? That basically wraps it up for my holiday visit to the Parks. I hope you enjoyed my pics. I recorded a couple of audio clips while I was at DCA and those should be up on the podcast soon.

Tom Sawyer's Island Part Zero

Image
Part Zero??? hee hee hee...I took over 200 photos today! We'll take our journey nice and slow so I don't bombard you with all the pictures at once! I spent 3 hours at the Park today, most of it on the island! Shall we begin? As you can see, I could not resist taking pictures as soon as I got in the Park so the reason this post is Part Zero is because it deals with things I saw on my way to the island. Here  I am, on my first day of "retirement"! Lot's of stuff happening on Main Street! I've been meaning to stop and look at this beauty ever since Davelandweb did a feature on it several months ago! Today, I finally remember to stop by. As you can see, it wasn't very crowded! I thought this display in the candy shop was adorable. Tomorrow we start our island exploration!

Wandering through the Park Part Uno

The Major was supposed to be at Disneyland...I couldn’t find him anywhere. I looked in Frontierland for a guy wearing a cat skin hat…nothing.   I looked in Tomorrowland for a guy wearing a tinfoil hat…nothing. I even looked in ToonTown for a guy wearing a tinfoil hat shaped like a cat…nothing.   So I gave up and decided to go shooting instead. Photos folks, not guns. Although it’s been four score and seven years since I stopped at the shooting gallery…. On with the show....  My attempt at an "artsy" shot of the clock upon arrival. I love this poster! Like I said before, it's the little things. This fellow is up above the door to the bathroom. I guess if you are in a hurry to go to the bathroom, you aren't gonna look up and admire the fancy light fixtures, right? One of the doors I used to go in and out of when I was a castmember. Nice close-up of Dick Nunis' window. OK, where have I been? I don't believe I've eve...

Disneyland 5-16-10

Image
As usual, my obligatory shot of the Main Street Station so I can see what time I arrived, LOL. Sitting on the porch of City Hall, watching the "towns people"... Sorry this is so dark but I was VERY surprised to see FOUR trasnportation vehicles on Main Street at the same time. You know what that means: CROWDS! My friends and I decide to have lunch at the Carnation Cafe, which is one of my favorite places to eat at Disneyland. Something about all of these umbrellas appealed to me. Patiently waiting for my lunch. The smile belies the starving, snarling, growling bear of hunger I am hiding like the true lady that I am, LOL! I had already devoured 1/4 of the sandwich before I realized I had not taken a picture of my lunch. After lunch, we strolled over to Frontierland and while my friends shopped, I watched the band. Let's go ride the Columbia! We got there just as the ship was leaving so we waited for the next vo...
