Getting evacuated from the PeopleMover

As evacuations go, it was pretty run of the mill. Except for the fact that I am afraid of heights... If you look at the photo below, you can see the light blue cars of the PeopleMover as they are approaching the America Sings building. Right by the trees...Go on, take a good look. That's where it stopped. STOPPED. A castmember came along and informed us that he would open our doors one car at a time and we would have to follow him up the track to an emergency exit. I sat there thinking, "You've got to be kidding me!!" I told the castmember that I was afraid of heights and he very calmly assured me that everything would be alright. I took his hand and stepped out of the vehicle. I was shaking like a leaf. He told me he had to go and attend to the guests in the next vehicle, then let go of my hand. I looked up the track to a previously unnoticed door and told myself, "You can do this" but I wasn't convinced! I don't know how long I stood there...

Thanks for sticking with me on this CHOC Walk Tour! This will be the last post so get comfortable and enjoy the tour. Walking into DCA we are greeted by ElecTRONical People! I'm anxious to see the movie but I don't get these guys....guess I have to wait until the movie comes out. Here is Flick and Princess Atta with a very happy guest! Now this caught my eye...it's a switch/signal for the new cable cars! I don't know what it's really called but I do know it's a train thing, LOL! Guess where we go next? Backstage! I am assuming that this construction stuff is related to Carlsland because it is right next to.... THIS! Can you make out what it is??? You can barely see through this covered fence at the Carsland construction. Talk about a teaser! We leave the backstage area and end up in Bug's Land... Look closely...there are berries of some kind growing here. Hmm, I hear an engine roaring... It's Lightening McQueen and his groupie! Mater has one, ...

We made out way back towards Main Street... You can barely see people behind Minnie that are barely starting their walk! You can see how wet the ground is. I kept slipping! Ooh! Once again we go backstage... This area is very familiar to me since this was the route I took to go "on stage". Passing the "In-Between"... I've been in this storage unit...it's where cups, napkins and the like are stored. Hello, Disneyland Fire Department! We've left Disneyland and now heading towards DCA! More tomorrow!

After getting my picture taken with the train engineer, it's time to leave the backstage area. To give you an idea of where we are, Small World is to the right. Hmmm...a street sign. Checking out the Monorail track... I put my hand through a fence to get a shot of this location. We've left the backstage area are are back in Fantasyland. I always stop and look for ghosts of the boats that used to sail here! In Tomorrowland, we run into Buzz and some space groupies! Luke strikes a pose with his buddy, Buzz. We'll continue our CHOC Walk tour later!

Today our tour continues as we walk through Fantasyland and make our way towards ToonTown. Gosh, soooo many people. Isn't it great? Wow, lookie here! Clarabell Cow and Horace Horsecollar! The excitement mounts as we are allowed to go backstage. I got to tour this area during my orientation but alas, was not allowed to take pictures...now I'm gonna take full advantage! I love these doors. As you can see, we are behind ToonTown now. Some boats from Small World... Hmmm...I have no idea! I noticed the number 55....it was a very good year since that's when Disneyland and I were born! The Roundhouse!! Some castmembers were watching us, LOL. The trains stored in the Roundhouse. Behind the scenes stuff one rarely gets to see. Much to my surprise (and delight) they had an engine out for photo ops. Will end today's post with this horrible picture of me and the Engineer.
