Veterans Day

Stop for a just a moment - what would your life be like right now without our military? Would we even be here in the United States of America?

In 2007 while on a trip to New York, my friends took me to the oldest cemetery in the U.S. I walked around, took pictures and really enjoyed the beauty and solitude of this very old cemetery.


I noticed several little flags waving in the breeze and wondered to myself, "Hmm, why are those there?". After a few moments, I realized that it was Veterans Day. Wait...this cemetery is old...why are there flags all over the place here? I decided to get a closer look and read one of the tombstones that had a flag stuck in the ground in front of it.


There, on the tombstone, was a round brass plaque that said "Revolutionary War Veteran". It took a moment for it to sink in. Revolutionary War Veteran.  OH MY GOD...this man had fought to start my country!!! My eyes flooded with tears as I sank to my knees and humbly asked the spirit of this man to forgive me for my ignorance. And I thanked him. Over and over, I thanked him. It was an experience I will never forget. And as long as I live, I will never take our military for granted.

Wow, Revolutionary War! Amazing. My dad was in the navy for 20 years, and went to Vietnam, I certainly thank him for his service.

Getting back into the swing of things...

It's been a rough couple of days... I came back to work only to be told that I will no longer have a job as of February 1st! Ya, it was a big shocker to me, too. That being said, everything else is back to "normal" and I will begin posting on a regular basis again. Below is a little video I put together taken on my last night in Florida. There is a wonderful little town called Ocala, which I dearly love. I am providing links to two sites, one here and one here , so you can have a little information about the place. OOPS! Upside down Christmas Trees?

We interrupt our Disneyland visit to bring you a few pics from Tom's Farms . Ever heard of it? Unless you live in Southern California, probably not. It's a neato keen place and I really dig it. I had not been there in 10 years so it was high time I paid them a visit. They have tons of outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. I had a great bacon cheeseburger and then walked off my lunch by window shopping. A life sized Santa! (And he looks a bit creepy the way he's standing there. "Hey baby.." Ever seen an upside down Christmas tree? Me either! I decided to take pictures of all the trees... Look! Another upside down Christmas tree.
