Tom Sawyer's Island

In recent years the island has been called Pirate's Lair. I still prefer to call it Tom Sawyer's Island. The island has been closed for some time but if all goes well it will reopen in May of 2017 at the same time the Disneyland Railroad become operational again. A part of the island will be missing - gone forever. Back in 2011 I took you on a photo tour of the island. This might be a good time to take a look back and remember how things were because we really have no idea what to expect once it reopens. My nine part series began in February of 2011 and ended in March. So many photos to share! Click here to read that first post. In the coming days I will post links to the rest of the tour because I know interest in the island is growing rapidly and to be honest, since I wasn't on Twitter back then, I didn't get to share this with so Disneyland fans worldwide, lol. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that will appreciate these photos. Have fun on the t...

My Cruise: Final Morning

Image
Oh, MAN!!!! I can't wait for my next cruise!!! Sorry but I just had to get that out. Ok...deep breath.... I should have posted this picture in my last post about the Chef's T able but to be perfectly honest, I forgot to scan it! I figured you wouldn't mind if I posted it here. Each one of us got a n 8x10 photo and that was included in the price of the dinner. Nice touch, right? On our last morning I got up early, as usual. I made my way to the buffet restaurant to get some coffee and decided to sit outside to enjoy the view while I still could. Soon it would be time to go back to the cabin, gather my belongings and leave the ship The ship had docked in Long Beach while we were still sleeping. Some day I'd like to watch the docking process but I already get up too early as it is so I'm not about to get up even earlier, LOL. It was so nice to enjoy my coffee and take in the scenery. Don't ask me why I took this picture - I have no idea! It wasn...

Festival of Holidays and Disneyland

Image
We are continuing our visit to DCA and the Festival of Holidays, with a quick visit to Disneyland, too! I had to get a close-up of these lights. They are just so darn cool. This blew my mind....can you believe I got a picture of this with NO PEOPLE???? Time to head on over to Disneyland! The Main Street train station was all decked out for the Candlelight Procession. Here's a short clip taken on Main Street. Here are some castle shots because really, you can never have too many castle shots, right? That basically wraps it up for my holiday visit to the Parks. I hope you enjoyed my pics. I recorded a couple of audio clips while I was at DCA and those should be up on the podcast soon.

Festival of Holidays at DCA

Image
Oh what fun!! Be prepared - this is going to be a very long post. A VERY LONG POST. Not much in the way of text but lots of pics. Are you ready? This year I noticed many, more holiday decorations in DCA and that's a great thing . I know that many of you won't have the chance to visit the Parks during the holiday season so I hope these pictures give you an idea of what's going on. Some pretty cool new merchandise at Elias and Company. And now, the Festival of Holidays. I had no idea what to expect but after seeing it, I think the best way to describe it is to say that it's a Holiday themed Food and Wine Festival! Afteer seeing and smelling so many yummy things, I ordered a mini Turkey Pot Pie with Cranberry Sauce and loved every bit of it. I walked around a bit more and when I saw the Mac and Chees...
