Disneyland Hotel on New Year's Day
I slept in until 9 and then got my butt out of bed to go find some coffee. Yes, you can make coffee in your room but I need creamer so I went to the hotel coffee shop near Goofy's Kitchen for my morning cup of Joe. Once there, I decided to get a mocha latte and a cinnamon bun which I shared with my friend, Janet. Once the coffee kicked in and I felt semi-human, Janet and I walked around the pool area and took some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
The gates to the pools have this cool double Monorail decoration.
Recognize this? This was the site of the old Dancing Waters show the hotel used to have many moons ago.
If you want to see the old show, here is part 1 and part 2.
Next, we walked on over to the Frontier Tower.
Another view of the cool pool sign.
This might be a better look at the Monorail decoration on the gate.
By this time, our two other friends were up so we inquired if the hotel could hold our bags until we left and the answer was yes. We checked out of our rooms and left our luggage with the the nice people out front of the hotel near valet parking so we could spend some more time wandering around the hotel. By then we were all hungry so we went to Tangaroa Terrace for lunch.
I forgot to take a picture of my burger (which was very good) but at least I got the sweet potato fries before I finished them, LOL.
This was our view while we ate....naturally I had to be spiteful and send this shot to my friends back East! Ain't I a stinker?
And that brings us to the end, boy and girls. Oh wait! There is one more thing. Our field reporters for The Disneyland Gazette took a video of the countdown at DCA. You won't believe how foggy it was!
