Celebrating Spring!

One of my favorite places to visit in the Spring is the Hotel Del Coronado. No, I can't afford to stay there but spending the afternoon exploring the hotel and eating lunch out on their pool area is a great way to spend a day. I'll be going to San Diego on Monday so I'm gonna try to convince my friends to stop at the hotel!

Pretty Picture Day

OK, so it's not exactly "pretty" but you have to admit, it's funny. I don't know what it is about cats - they look at you and you INSTANTLY know what they are thinking.

Cat: "Ya, right...you and what army?"

More Mission Pics

Ok boys and girls...time to combine my love of exploring, photography and history into one post! I must admit, I thought Kt Carson was a fictional character. Imagine my SURPRISE when I saw this sign!!

Yes, the middle name grabbed my attention!

All in all, a great place to explore and spend an afternoon!

I'm not asking you to take sides...

But I am asking you to support our troops. Be an Angel.

Crystal Cove

I've been told that if you click on my pictures from yesterday, nothing happens. So I am uploading them again and hopefully now you can get the glorious extra large version for your enjoyment. (With an extra or two thrown in!)

The best way to get out of a funk...

I had the sinus headache from hell this weekend...as of today, Monday, 1:20 p.m., I still have it. UGH! But the point of this post is not to complain about my headache (although it would probably feel better to jump off the roof of my office building right now...) but to show you what I did to take my mind off of my headache, at least for a while...

My roommate and I went for a very early morning walk at Crystal Cove beach. Like an idiot, I wore my "good" tennis shoes so I took them off and walked bare footed. Yes, it was cold but not freezing. It was the best thing I could have done - made me feel like a kid again, especially getting my feet wet.

I saw starfish and sea urchins! And to tell the truth, I had
never been to a tide pool before!

Uff da! How did 54 years go by without exploring a tide pool?

This next picture kinda reminds me of Planet of the Apes, eh? LOL...OK, I'm off to find some stronger meds...

Somebody, help me!

OMG, I'm drowning in work! I am taking a quick lunch break right now, inhaling my sandwich and writing this brief post because it's driving me crazy not being able to post every day. Sheesh! OK, here is a picture of a mission I "discovered" last Saturday. I was driving around and noticed one of those little signs along the freeway that marked a historical point of interest. I decided to investigate....
It turned out to be quite interesting and when I get a chance (ha!) I'll post some more pics.

Holy macanoli, Batman!

Wow, the past week has been a blizzard of activity at work. I'm not complaining..but I do go home totally brain dead in the evenings with no energy or desire to post on this blog. Today looks like more of the same. I'm nursing my coffee and trying to wake up...will try to post some interesting pics this weekend.

DCA continued...

So these are posted in no particular order since I jumped all around the Park anyway...

I always enjoy the ever changing flowers in Disney Parks. These look gorgeous and help brighten up the walls that keep people like me from taking pictures of the construction.

The restaurant was closed for renovations...don't know exactly what they are doing but it should be interesting!

This is the new wine bar...I must come back when it's open!

Two young love birds....

Ah yes, I can hardly wait for these!!!

This is the model on display in Blue Sky room.

This was a cool way to decorate those dumb walls.

Another new window display.

This train is so darn cute but won't be here for long.

Would you believe I have never, ever noticed this Premiere sign before?

DCA 3-7-10

So I decided to go to DCA since I had not been there in about 3 months. Too long... So I took a few shots of the exterior. I apologize for the quality of the color. I was still half asleep and didn't check my camera settings. (Not really, but it sounded good, LOL)

OK, so let's get INSIDE the park and take some pics....

I noticed a few changes such as the theme in some of the windows in the Hollywood area. Pretty cool, huh?

Gotta run but will post more later.

One gone, one going soon...

Well,  as much as I adore Mickey Mouse, it's kinda sad to look at this and know that I have a photograph of something that no longer "is". I haven't been to DCA in a couple of months but tomorrow morning I am going - rain or no rain, I am GOING! As for the second photo...I don't even know if this guy is still there. I hope he is...for one last photo.

Cars Land - I can hardly wait!

OMG...this is gonna be GREAT!

Time Travel

Unfortunately, we can't travel through time but if I could, I'd zap myself back to October of 1955. I figured I might see Walt walking around the Park and then I'd ask him for his autograph and most importantly, thank him for Disneyland.

Let's fast forward to December 2000. Here are a couple of close-up shots of some of the tiles currently at the entrance to DCA. Soon they will be gone. I wonder what they will do with them? Sell them at an auction, I suppose... *sigh*

OK....I love this picture. It was taken on December 31, 2000. Talk about anxiously waiting for DCA's opening day!
