Funny sodas

Image
Hello, readers! I had to share some unusual sodas I spotted over the weekend in Idyllwild. They cracked me up! Will have some new Disney pics up tomorrow. I got word that the video wouldn't play so I am re-inserting it. Hope it works!

Inside the Carthay Circle

Image
On the evening of July 11th, my friends and I decided to take a look inside the Carthay Circle. Let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed! They let us go upstairs to look around a bit, which was very nice of them, LOL. It is very elegant... Even the bathrooms! Back downstairs, we decided to look at the menu. Even though we were tired from a long day of checking out the Disney exhibit at the Reagan library and then going to Disneyland and DCA, we decided to end our evening with a little snack at the downstairs lounge. I had a rose water soda. Yes, it sounded weird to me too, but I tried it and guess what? It is delicious. Then my friends ordered an appetizer of grilled watermellon with sorbet. I thought that sounded really weird but heck, I had to try it. It was very good. We also tried a spicy prawn and that was delicious, too. We had a nice relaxing time and as we left, I noticed this gorgeous display of flowers in the lobby. Go

I'm loving DCA!

I've said it before and I suppose you will tire of it eventually but I can't help it. I am totally wrapped up in it and loving DCA. The Cozy Cone "Motel" is a delight. Ya sure, it is a series of snack stands but come on, LOOK AT IT! You can't walk by and not smile. You just can't! The flowers, the lights, the planters - everything is a cone and I love it. Lightning McQueen makes an appearance several times a day and the kids love it. Believe it or not, they sell Mater teeth!!!! I will be taking pictures here for years to come. Oh Cozy Cone, I love you, LOL. Back on Buena Vista Street, I like that the Chamber of Commerce is now Guest Relations.  I had some fun with Instagram... first the original shot... And now the Instagram version. Original shot... Instagram version. I rode Mater's Junkyard Jamboree for the first time. Love the "decorating" that he did. Oh and yes,

Disney Exhibit Part 7

We've reached the end, folks. Here's a really cool badge that was for sale at the exhibit. TONS of other neat stuff! Pins galore. Cool shirts. This was a magazine that was for sale, also. It sounded very interesting so I took a picture of it so I'd remember to look it up online! After leaving the library, we decided to head down the 5 Freeway and go to Disneyland. Big surprise, right? Along the way, I pointed out the Hyperion Bridge which has been recreated at DCA.

Carnation Cafe

On July 17th, I had an early dinner at the Carnation Cafe. I was so happy to be back in my favorite haunt! I ordered the meatloaf!

Disney Exhibit Part 6

I was so surprised to see the costume that was worn by Betty Taylor at the Golden Horseshoe Revue. She and Wally Boag had performed for us at an NFCC Convention back in the late 1990s but this was the first time I had ever seen it up close. I found a cool site for the Golden Horseshoe Review. Check it out here . Here's another view of the Peter Pan pirate vehicle. Who doesn't love Haunted Mansion merchandise??? For you poster geeks, a lovely POC poster. I'm told this guy was in the attraction back in the 1960s! The minute I saw this, I said, "I didn't realize it was gone from the Park!" They had some really cool mini ships that were used for filming the POC movies. The details were amazing. Just about everyone has had a chance to see the costumes but they are fun to look at so I took pictures of them... again . I have to say that this is my favorite detail of the ship. From this point, we
