Disneyland Train Stuff

Image
I went to the Park the other night to meet up with a friend and she said she wanted to check out the Disneyland Train display. HUH? I didn't know they had set up a display. Inside the Opera House there was artwork and photos galore on the walls and there were display cases with super interesting train memorabilia. I was genuinely surprised at so many cool things to see. And the best part? An actual Engineer. Yes, folks, the guys that run those trains are castmembers but they are also actual ENGINEERS. I'd like you to meet Mark! We spoke briefly with Mark and he told us so many interesting things. He has been a castmember for 4 years. He wanted to be an Engineer from day one but Disneyland requires all candidates for the position to be regular castmembers for one year. He must have really wanted the job because he said he eagerly worked did his one year stint and then applied for the Engineer position. When he was accepted he had to take 6 months of training on the "

So Darn Hot

Image
It's hot. It's so hot that I don't want to leave the house. So I'm not and I don't think you should either. With that in mind, here are some refreshing beach pics for you to enjoy. Don't forget the sunscreen! If you are wondering where these were taken, I was at (or above) Corona del Mar. I didn't actually go into the state beach but took these shots from the street above.

DCA 7-10-16

Image
I had not been to the Parks for approximately two months. TWO LONG MONTHS. I popped in right at opening and headed straight to DCA. First I lined up for Soarin'. It was a 30 minute wait but it went by quickly. I think I may have waited 20 minutes. Let me say that I loved the new film. I am afraid of heights so the transitions startled me a bit and I think I bent the metal rods that I was gripping for dear life but I would definitely ride it again! The next thing I did was to ride Radiator Springs Racers. There was NO ONE in the single rider line so I walked right up! As I was walking along the exit queue, I liked the way the water tower looked so I stopped to snap. Next, I headed on over to Luigi's! There was so much to see inside the show building that I decided to simply enjoy the environment. But you know me, I had to take a couple of photos. This cracked me up because I am of a certain age where I remember getting my feet measured for shoes with a con

Star Wars Construction

These photos don't show much other than dirt and lots of it. But I know that many of you out there want to see this precious future Star Wars Land dirt so here it is!

ToonTown

Image
Today it's all about ToonTown. These pictures are from the same folder as my previous post. They are from 2005, maybe. Or 2004, maybe again. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter? Hell yes, it does and that's why it annoys me to no end that I can't tell you exactly when these were taken. Phooey! Maybe I should have a glass of wine when I blog... Ha! Good idea! See ya next time...

A Slow Start Back

Image
Surprised to see me back? Ya, me too. I miss blogging, I really do and yet, I don't have the time to blog like I used to. So I made a promise to myself that I would post something at least twice a month. I know it's not much but I don't have much to blog about either. I don't go to the Parks as often as I used to because I live farther away and quite frankly, that 91 Freeway is a killer no matter what time of day or night you drive it. Ugh. But even though I'm not going as often as I used to, I still have TONS of photos to share. Photos that were taken way before blogs even existed. They are in no particular order and will vary in subject matter. The quality won't be a good as in previous posts but that is because Shutterfly has taken my photos as prisoners and if I want a high resolution image, I have to buy it. I am not buying my own photos!  OK, enough complaining. Let's get to the pictures. This first shot of the castle is a pretty cool one even if I
