A visit with Mother Nature

Image
It's been a while since I've done a "nature series" so here are a few pics I took while walking at Crystal Cove State Park. I never get tired of going there. Before we reach the water, there's lots to see. Like these fuzzy flowers. Say hello to this sunny single daisy. Well, I assume she's single. Nasturtiums are edible, ya know. (I'm channeling my inner Ewell Gibbons) Look! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Super Bunny! Shortly after seeing the aforementioned bunny, I saw a baby rattlesnake. Where's the picture? Oh hell no, I ran in the opposite direction from that snake! These pods are just plain weird. Maybe they are aliens?

Oh my goodness...

I love crazy cakes. Wait til you see these...my favorite is the last one. Geek Weddings Cakes

Disneyland Late NIght

So I went to Disneyland last night to watch the fireworks and thank my Dad for making me such a BIG Disneyland fan. These pictures don't seem to be as clear as others I've taken in the past. I'm worried that my faithful camera might be on its last leg :-( I love these balloons. As I was walking by Pixie Hollow, I noticed the beautiful lights in the lake. Here is a short video of the light show. I waited for the fireworks in front of Small World. These were taken with my iPhone...still learning how to use it! Back to the regular camera so you can see how minimal the crowds were. This would be a great place to sit and relax if it wasn't a smoking section. I really don't know what possessed me to take this photo, LOL! Dare I say it? The backside of Walt...  My idea of how to end the evening. By the way, this chocolate chunk brownie was quite good. As I was about to leave the Park, I was asked if I wanted to answer a few qu

Happy Fathers Day!

To all of you that are dads, I extend a heartfelt wish for a wonderful day.  Last night I was thinking about my dad, trying to remember little things about him that I could share. He was very old fashioned and according to my sisters, very strict while they were growing up. I came along a few years later (surprise!) and by the time I was 6 or 7, he had mellowed out quite a bit. I owe my love of Disneyland to my dad. I remember asking him if he could remember when we first went to Disneyland. Without hesitation, he told me that we had gone in September of 1955. I was 4 months old, LOL. I asked him if he was the one that wanted to go or my mother - no, it was him. He said that after watching the Disney show on TV he was excited to see all the wonderful new things that Walt Disney had created. He really must have loved Disneyland or I was an super spoiled kid because I can remember that EVERY time I asked him to take me, we went. EVERY time. My friends would always tell me how lucky I w

Vintage Disneyland - 2005

Please allow me to remind everyone that I'm doing the CHOC walk again this year. I originally blogged about this back in May so I thought it was time to mention it again. Just click here . Thanks! OK, now on to Disney stuff. I was feeling nostalgic but unfortunately, I don't have a scanner so I can't share my old photos with y'all. However, I did go back and pull some from 2005. Let's go back and celebrate Disneyland's 50th, shall we? I loved, loved, LOVED this floral Mickey! This was the artwork on the photo holders that year. Check out the chicks wearing the 50's outfits!   This is what the castle actually looked like. GORGEOUS. From our perch on the Mark Twain, we see the Disneyland Marching Band. This little beauty was at Innoventions. (The car, not me) Look at this - BEFORE Cars Land. And finally, I thought I'd share with you my fashion ensemble for the day...

Video Friday!

Greetings, Earthlings!  I'll be at a graduation today so while I'm roasting away in the heat, y'all can sit back and enjoy these two videos. But first... This isn't a video but it's kinda cool so if you like the Haunted Mansion, you might like THIS ! Here's something a little different... And now, a little something from The Disneyland Gazette:

Whew! It's been a busy few days!

I feel so guilty for neglecting y'all but I haven't gone anywhere "blog worthy". I'm going through withdrawals because I haven't been to the Park. I haven't been to the beach, either. BUT! I have been filling out job applications so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me. In a perfect world, I'd find a job doing something with photography. Doesn't anybody out there want a personal photographer? LOL... Planning to take a sandwich to the beach today so maybe I'll have something interesting for you soon. In the meantime, enjoy this .

I'll be back in a couple of days with new posts. But in the meantime... I was informed that people were not able to leave comments....so I hope I've fixed the problem however, it will only apply to new posts going forward. So you'll have to make all of your comments here. (That is, IF you have anything to say about the past two days/posts!) Sorry about that. I don't know what happened - ain't technology grand? LOL. I'll leave you with some pictures you haven't seen....a shot of my birthday cake and a VERY cool car my brother-in-law recently purchased that he plans to restore. Since I love vintage cars, I will document the restoration process here on my blog.
