Check out this little video I found...looks like it might be a castmember preview. Wow! I love it!!

My excitement is mounting!

Why? OK, I'll tell you why...on Friday, September 30th, I am going to Disneyland. Keep in mind that I haven't been there in over a month - for me, that's torture. What makes this trip really special is that I am gong to Mickey's Halloween Party!!! It's my favorite time of year and my favorite holiday is being celebrated at my favorite place on this planet!!! I am so excited!!! Yes, I'll be bringing you tons of pictures and I may even post things from my  phone! I know I will definitely be tweeting from the Park so be sure to follow me on Twitter (at least on that night, LOL)!

Testing

This seems like it might work for quick updates. Come back tomorrow to find out why I'm testing!

Idyllwild (The forgotten chapter)

Image
Yes, it's true, I forgot all about these photos. I believe they were taken right after my recent move. Oh well, at least I finally remembered and now I can share them with y'all. So in case you are wondering what or where Idyllwild is, you can find out by clicking here . My cousin Patty and I went up for the day and helped my nephew clean a really cool little cabin he owns up there. By the way, it's for sale ! Wish I could buy it - I can totally see myself living up there. So after cleaning, we had worked up quite an appetite. We drove around the little town of Idyllwild and picked a place to try. It turned out to be pretty GOOD, too. I highly recommend Joanne's place, especially the Black and Blue Rib Eye steak. YUM! Here's what Joanne's looks like from the outside. They have a cute beer garden outside. I'm guessing it's really busy during the summer months. After a WONDERFUL meal, my cousin and I started driving down the mountain. To give you an

I'm gonna say it again, y'all....

I'm doing the CHOC walk and would REALLY appreciate your help. So would the kids!! Click HERE .  And thanks!

Walt Disney

Image
You never know where you'll find a Disney connection. About a month ago, I was helping a friend at a food show and while I was wandering around, I spotted a booth featuring a restaurant I had recently visited in Lake Arrowhead. They had decorated their booth with dozens of black and white photos and my eyes zoomed in on two photos of Walt Disney.  Naturally, curiosity got the best of me so I had to ask why there were pictures of Walt hanging in a booth for a waffle restaurant. The answer was simple:  All of the photos were of famous people who had spent time in Lake Arrowhead. OH! Cool! I apologize for the quality (or lack of) of these pictures but I took them with my phone. You know, pictures of pictures, LOL. If you missed my previous post on Lake Arrowhead, just click here .

Something different

You're gonna think I'm nuts... I know I haven't posted much lately but I haven't had anything interesting to share. I haven't gone anywhere so that means I haven't taken any interesting photos. *sigh* I just couldn't let another day go by without posting so here you go - a short cooking video! 25 points to anybody that actually makes this dish! And if you take pictures, I'll post them here on my blog!!

I'm doing it again!

Yessiree folks, I'm doing the CHOC Walk again! I hope you'll find it in your hearts to help out some great kids by clicking on this link . This year I am totally out of shape so it's going to be a struggle for me but I WILL DO IT !!! And I'll be taking pictures along the way...you know, pictures of places that are normally off limits to us!!!

The World of Podcasts

Image
It's funny how one casual remark can eventually lead to a big change in someone's life. I feel like telling a story so sit down and don't get up until I'm done. That's an order. About two years ago, my friends, Karen and Peter, were visiting and we were spending a few days at Disneyland together. They started telling me about changes that were to come to the resort and I was blown away by their knowledge. "How do you guys know all this stuff???" I asked. Karen quickly informed me about Disney podcasts. "Huh? What on Earth are podcasts?" I can be a little dense at times so she patiently explained to me that podcasts are like radio shows only you download them from itunes and listen to them at your convenience. I made a mental note to check that out. About a week later I started poking around itunes and naturally wanted to see what I could find in the podcast world on Disneyland. There wasn't much! About 96% revolved around Walt Disney Wo

Disneyland 1976

I found this video on YouTube and enjoyed it so much, I had to share it with y'all. You even get to see the inside of the Matterhorn before it was all closed up. I have to say that the music was pretty boring - I had to mute the sound after two minutes, LOL. Enjoy the video !

Mickey Merchandise

Image
Iffin y'all didn't know, I love Mickey Merchandise, especially if it's kitchen related! I took these pictures on August 21st and then promptly forgot to post them. (That happens with age....) Just look at all that COOL stuff! These made me stop in my tracks. Yes, I said tracks. When I arrive at Disneyland I am automatically hooked up to a track system that takes me through all the shops. Deal with it. So I'm looking at these and wondering: What the heck are they??? I touch one and find that it is ceramic-like in texture. Let's zoom in on that card... I saw these signs announcing the new bakery and my mouth started to water, LOL! Oh boy!! Thanks for stopping by! Oh and if by some chance you still haven't heard enough about the D23 Expo and want to listen to a panel discussion about all that went on, The Disneyland Gazette will be releasing part two in a day or so.

Jensen-Alvarado Ranch continued

Image
I don't know what's going on with Blogger but I'm getting mighty irritated! I could not add any more photos to my post yesterday so I sent Blogger some feedback . Hopefully, the problem will be resolved soon. OK....I continued walking up the dirt path towards the farm equipment.... In the distance I saw a brick building which was once the residence of the Jensen-Alvarado family. There were more workmen over to the right so I decided not to continue walking up there. I found out that they do give tours of the home so I'm gonna have to do that once my roommate is able to get around on her own. Oh and guess what??? After I left and was headed home I saw a sign that said Rubidoux Nature Center. I thought to myself, "HUH???" Apparently, the Jensen Alvarado Ranch was not the nature center I was looking for earlier! I followed the signs to the nature center and it was CLOSED. I was so bummed. Oh well....something to do another day! Oh one more thing....

A discovery of sorts

Image
I was on my way to the nature center I mentioned the other day....driving through a residential area.....saw the little brown sign that said Historical Museum with an arrow pointing to the right.  I turned right...more houses... where is this place? ...OH! I found it! Hmmm....it doesn't say anything about a nature center but I'll go in anyway. When I drove up to this building there was a sign in the window saying there was a day use charge of $3.00 but there wasn't anybody there to collect my money. What to do???? I drove in! I parked the car and started walking around... Ah, here we go...info! This gorgeous old house caught my eye. While I was admiring it, I saw a sign posted that said the grounds were closed for restoration. Oops! I was trespassing! So I kept walking around, LOL. Lots of old farm equipment... There were some adorable baby donkeys beyond that fence. I didn't walk towards them because I didn't want th

Batter Blaster

Image
Have you tried Batter Blaster? I saw it on TV (Food Network) about a year ago and always wanted to try it. Well, I finally did! I bought some last night and made pancakes for breakfast about an hour ago. I really dig it!! There is a learning curve, though. (Go figure!) I thought, how difficult can this be? The container resembles that of whipped cream so you just swoosh it into the pan but I found I got the best results making a circle and then filling it in quickly. This stuff is pretty darn cool! Wow, I just went to their website to give you the link and found out that they now have flavors!! Woohoo!
