If you are on any of the social media services, you most likely see pleas from animal rescue groups asking you to share their post in hopes of finding a home for a displaced animal. Sadly, it's a problem that has been going on forever but social media makes it more "in your face" than ever before. Have you ever stopped to consider just how much sharing these posts helps? It does. It really does. Sure, maybe you are not in a position to adopt an animal but someone out there is. By merely sharing a post, these situations get exposure like never before. You may not think that it helps but I assure you, IT DOES . If you currently have a pet I'd like you to take a moment and think about what would happen to that pet if you should suddenly (or not so suddenly) pass away. Your family or friends would step up and give that animal a home, right? At least you'd like to think that would be the case. Sadly, in many instances, that is not the case. The purpose of this p

Here's another post that was started a while back and that I never finished. I must say, I miss the days when I could blog daily. Well, let's get started, shall we? This first photo shows a detail that many see but I'll bet few photograph - an empty Matterhorn ride vehicle. Or should I say vehicles? Anyway... I like to imagine that I have the entire Matterhorn to myself and I am the only person in the Park. Yes, I am THAT greedy. The old Matterhorn ticket booth shutters got a facelift. When did those stairs appear?? Oh geez....I have no idea what caught my eye or why I took this picture. And now my favorite thing to do when I am enjoying a snack at Disneyland - admire the architecture! Seriously! Just look at all the little details and angles. I think it is amazing. If you are wondering where this is, it's the Jolly Holiday Bakery at Disneyland. That's it. Just a quick post for today!

Sit back, relax and put your feet up.

Holy cow, how time does fly. I started this post months ago....and never got around to finishing it. Now I feel horrible. I think I will punish myself by going out for pancakes. Take a little vacation with me... A couple months ago I went to DCA to check out the Grizzly Peak area. I know this is late but I figured you would want to see the pictures anyway. Am I right? I love how they took a classic old 60s station wagon and used it to show the typical family vacation. At least in my family it was typical. Except for the canoe...and the station wagon...but hey, we did take family vacation road trips! This area looks great and I highly suggest you take the time to look at all the little things...like these signs. Wouldn't it be cool if we could go up to this watch tower? As I said earlier, many months have gone by since I started this post and it is now finally going live on Christmas Eve. The next couple of weeks will g

Time Machine Destination: 2009

Halloween Time at Disneyland circa 2009! Space Mountain looked really cool back then and I'm sure it still does now.  I stood and watched as the colors on the mountain changed.... Pretty cool, isn't it? Is anyone going this year?

I had to be there, I simply HAD to be there. It was crowded and it was hot but I had made up my mind that I would ignore it and enjoy the fact that I was there. Paint the Night was BEYOND phenomenal. I did not film it, I did not Tweet it, I did not Periscope it because I needed to be fully there in the moment, taking it all in. I am not ashamed to say that tears were flowing like a broken water pipe. The parade brought back memories of waiting (sometimes impatiently) and also the satisfaction and wonder of the original Electrical Parade. The fireworks had me looking left, right, up and down constantly. Wow, what a show! Again, I simply watched and experienced the show. You can find tons of videos on YouTube If you so desire. I simply enjoyed the show and kept thinking about my Dad and how much he loved the fireworks and I knew he was watching with me. So now, I will share a few pictures taken that day. I got my badge!! My friends, Karen and Peter took me to di

Who? The one and only Disneyland, that's who! The 24 hour event that kicked off the 60th celebration was a couple of months ago but I still want to share my adventure with you. I did not want to deal with the throngs of people yet I still wanted to be there. What to do, what to do.....I decided that I was going to go to Disneyland at 3:00 in the morning! I went to bed early and got up at 1:30 so that I could leave my house by 2:00. I drove down to Anaheim and when I was about a mile away, stopped at a red light, I tweeted "Do you think I'll get in?" Several people responded yes. I was excited! I drove into the Mickey and Friends parking structure and didn't even have to stop and show my pass...there was no one in the booths! I parked where I wanted and made my way to the tram. There were a few others there but only a handful, 10 guests at the most. I breezed through security and walked into the Park with no problem. As I walked down Main Street, I was m
