Ugh!!!

Some of you may already know this but my unemployment benefits have ended and I am STILL unemployed. I will be focusing my attention (even more!) on finding a job so my blog posting will be sporadic at best. To say I am bummed is an understatement. You have no idea how much I enjoy blogging and sharing things with you. I am still going to the Annual Passholder Fantasmic event on the 28th so at least I'll have something interesting to blog about after that. Stay tuned...

Food Time!

Image
Ever since I was a kid, I've loved Hamburger Helper. I know, I know, a lot of people don't like it but I do. I didn't buy it very often but I always had a box in the pantry for those times when I needed something quick. Fast forward a few decades and now I'm in that time of my life where I have to watch my sodium intake. Bummer, man...major bummer. So many of the foods I like are now off limits!!!  Well the other night I was hungry and I wanted to make something quick so I look in the pantry and pull out the handy dandy Hamburger Helper. I was thinking that if I just ate a little bit, it wouldn't be so bad.... And then I looked at the ingredients. Ugh! If that wasn't bad enough, the amount of sodium nearly made me fall over. So I went online and Googled "homemade hamburger helper" and found a cool site and got inspired to make my own low sodium version. We finally got a break in the 3 digit weather so I ate outside on the patio...

Disneyland Backstage

Image
About once a year I like to peek over the back fence, I guess you could say. When I am in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure I like to see if anything interesting is going on in the backstage area of Disneyland. However, before we do that, let's admire the tram loading area, shall we? It is a very fine tram loading area, me thinks. OK, OK, let's get on with the good stuff. You'll have to enlarge these and examine them carefully. There's no telling what all you eagle eyed peeps might spot! To be quite honest, I haven't really looked at these shots so if you see something, make sure you tell us about it in the comments section!

Poking around DCA Part 2

Image
Yesterday we were checking out the details of Katz and Sons and now it's time to meander through yet another store. What caught my eye is that this built-in shelf unit is open! That means it's not really a true built-in but a storage area cleverly disguised as a built-in. Am I making any sense? I think I watch too much HGTV. Anyway.... On the wall there is a message board and you really should take the time to check out all of these messages! Be sure to click on the photos to enlarge them. This one made me smile....which Roy do you think they are referring to? Next we see the candy shop and it is empty. I mean empty! But wait, so is the ice cream shop! Maybe people don't want ice cream in the morning? Heck, it wasn't that early; approximately 11:00 a.m. I had to go into Elias & Company....just had to! Inside, I found a very cute Snow blouse. When you visit DCA, take time and really look at the window displays. At first, I

Poking around DCA

As I said the other day , I drove to the Parks to register for the AP Fantasmic event so while I was there, I had to go visit DCA, right? The first thing that caught my eye was this! If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was 70 years old. It was too hot to stay outside so I ducked into the first store on my right which was Julius Katz & Sons. I scanned the shelves for merchandise. So many pretty things and so little room to put them in, LOL! If these are repeats, I apologize. I didn't feel like going through previous posts to check my photos. And if they are repeats, that means I now have doubles but hey, they were taken on different days! I love the bright, vibrant colors. A display in one of the cases behind the register is very interesting and I bet most people don't take the time to check it out. Now this confuses me. A new line of merchandise clearly featuring Maleficent but it's pink? PINK???? It just doesn't seem right.

Disney Air Fresheners

I had heard about these a while back but had not seem them at the Parks until yesterday. LOL...which one would YOU get? I drove down to the Parks for one reason - to register for the special AP presentation of Fantasmic. Actually, my son and I planned to go to Disneyland to watch the fireworks on August 28th in honor of my dad's birthday because he loved Disneyland and he loved the fireworks. When I found out that AP's were invited to register for a special event on that day I figured it was a no brainer; I had to register! Here's the link if you want more info. Time to go home...

Big Girl Merchandise

Good golly, Miss Molly, there are some AWESOME purses in Cars Land for the ladies!!! Feast your eyes on these!! I was drooling all over the place. Both of these purses were priced at $79.95. Ouch! But somehow I have to find a way to get that blue and black purse!! I don't know how much these wallets are but I'm sure that cost more than "regular" wallets. The day I took these photos I was told that the purses had only been in stock for two days and that they were very popular. I hope they still have them by the time I'm ready to buy!

Honey Badger visits Disneyland

Image
The rumors you've heard are true - the Honey Badger visited Disneyland. I first spotted him relaxing near City Hall on Main Street. The Disneyland Gazette team is on the job doing research to keep YOU in touch with The Land! Actually, Shawn told me that Luke was in the Park so we met up with him for a picture because the three of us hadn't been together since August of last year. Next stop is the Matterhorn which I was eager to ride! I know a lot of people have said that it is really bumpy and rough now but to be totally honest, I didn't think it was any different. Oh and short me had no problem with the new vehicle, LOL. Now I'm on the train, enjoying the view... Lo and behold, the Honey Badger is on the train, too! We did the Grand Circle Tour and decided to ride the Monorail over to the Disneyland Hotel for lunch. When we boarded, we were lucky enough to ride in the very front and guess who was with us? Yup, that pesky Honey Badger!
