Old Houses Part 2

Image
Last month, I posted a few photos of a couple of old houses in Riverside. We went back a couple of weeks ago to get some rose clippings so while I was there I took a few more pictures. I was admiring this iron fence...quite lovely if you ask me. This is the house next door...the one with the half round window in the front. If you didn't get to see my first post about these neat old houses, click here to check it out. I love the details. More fencing along the garage wall... In the backyard, there is a old fountain which was probably pretty cool in its day. Now I'm in the backyard looking at the house next door. If walls could talk, huh? Back in the front, checking out the iris plants and wondering if we should grab a few. What struck me as very odd is why would you leave drapes hanging in a house if it was going to be lifted and moved? (Which hasn't happened yet and we're wondering if it ever will.) Now this might need s

Disneyland...Well, I tried...

After checking out the Carthay Circle over at DCA, I walked over to Disneyland. Can't visit the resort and NOT go to Disneyland, right? It's not natural, LOL. Unfortunately, it was just as crowded as DCA. It took forever to get through the turnstile, like 15 minutes! As you can see, Disneyland is now having Grad Nites in the evenings. Maybe that's why it was crowded??? Maybe people's passes are expiring soon and they are trying to get in some Disney time before they have to give up their passes? (I can sure understand that one!) The flowers in the Park always amaze me. Work continues at the Carnation Cafe. I see that they have extended the tarps so that people like me can't tiptoe and put their cameras over the fence. More flower shots... Couldn't resist these...for those of you that keep journals or just like jotting down ideas, these blank books are awesome! Sadly, that's it, folks. Disneyland was soooo crowded that it was

Carthay Circle Part 2

While checking out every conceivable angle of the Carthay Circle, I happened to glance over the construction walls towards Buena Vista Street and saw a few more details that I either didn't notice on my last visit, or simply weren't there before. It's all beginning to look so REAL! Look! I love it when I can catch someone doing work! I know there are water fountain geeks out there...right? Facing the Carthay Circle, I've walked over to the left side of the building... I love this entry way. Here's a closer look at the ironwork. Nice tile work on those stairs, right? Now I am on the right side of the building. The corridors are gorgeous. So gorgeous, that I'm going to walk down to the other end... At the end of the corridor, looking out towards Taste Pilot's Grill. Now, still in the same spot but looking towards Buena Vista Street. Turning to my right, I see more stairs... ...and an iro

Quick note: I am trying out a new layout which gives you, the reader, a choice as to how to view my posts. I hope you like it. I've had fun experimenting with the different views.   The walls were down and I got a great look at the outside of this gorgeous new addition to DCA! Get comfortable because there are TONS of pictures for your drooling pleasure. I arrived at DCA a bit dismayed at the crowds. I even asked the castmember at the turnstiles what was going on and she didn't know! My main goal was to make my way to the Carthay Circle Theater but on the way I noticed that renovations are still being made to the outside of Taste Pilots Grill. OK, folks, there she is! I had to stop myself from running over there, LOL. Looking to the right...I love the overcast sky. It made this building look so cool. At first I was a bit perplexed as to how to best shoot this without those pesky electrical lines and then realized - DUH, they are supposed to be there!
