Yawn

Apparently, I am sicker (is that a word?) than I thought...been going to bed at 7:00 p.m like a little old lady. What's that you say? It's 7:54 p.m right now? Oh, no wonder why I'm so tired. I guess I better go rest. After all, I have an appointment with Tom Sawyer's Island on Tuesday. Don't wanna miss that! Hey, check this out! http://www.imagineeringdisney.com/blog/2011/1/29/walt-disney-studios-post-production-behind-the-scenes.html

Video Friday and The End of an Era

Image
The Three Caballeros are no more. OK, so it's a bit melodramatic but then, that's how I roll, LOL. I had a very nice little get-together yesterday, complete with cake and a very cool card made by my boss. In this first photo we see the previously mentioned Three Caballeros: me, Vicki and Scot. Next, we see the very pretty cake before it gets savagely attacked by starving zombies. I must say, in all the years that I've worked for Marsh, I have NEVER seen the Head of Office serve cake so I am honored!! Today will be my last in the office and just between you, me and the fencepost, I'm not gonna be worth much so I hope I don't get any rush projects! OK...it is, after all, Friday and that means Video Friday. Today I have a link for you to one of my new favorite cooks. Has anyone seen Mexican Made Easy on the Food Network? I highly recommend it. Click here for a neat video on guacamole and chips. I'm salivating!

Updates

Greetings, Earthlings. Several of you have asked for updates on some things so this quick post will address those items. First, my lack of posts. I have been soooo friggin' sick, it's pathetic. My doctor diagnosed it as a sinus infection but I think it's gone beyond that. It feels like bronchitis. As Cheech and Chong used to say, I'm sick up and fed with all the coughing. UGH. As far as the job search goes....it hasn't. Right now I don't want to think about it. Maybe I'm burying my head in the sand but all I can think about is getting well so that I can spend my first day of unemployment at Disneyland. Foolish? Maybe. But I can't think of any other place I'd rather be. I'm sure you understand! Many of you have asked about the boys that went missing from my son's classroom. Sadly, no news to report on that. I will continue to post the Find Our Boys site here, on Twitter and on Facebook . As a mom, I can not comprehend the emotional torture

Video Friday

Hey guys, sorry for my absence. I've been sick with the flu. UGH. I'm feeling about 1/4th human right now but nowhere good enough to go into work.  So I was sitting in bed, listening to my Darkness Radio podcasts when they started talking about a very cool sounding paranormal research group that is highly scientific in its approach. They posted a video of something they caught on the Queen Mary and when I saw it, it totally creeped me out so I had to share! Enjoy!

Something sad to share.

My son works as an Aide for the Riverside Unified School District. Right before Christmas break, two boys from his class went missing. As you can imagine, their families are frantic. They have created a website to help spread the word. PLEASE share this site with everyone you know... Any bit of information, no matter how small, could prove to be vital. Find Our Boys

On a Knott's roll...

Image
My sister was helping the next door neighbor clean up some stacks of papers and stuff and came across this souvenir menu from approximately 1950. Wasn't that uber cool?

Vintage Knott's and Disneyland

Image
You might be in for a treat today.... I present two family photos. The first one is from Knott's Berry Farm, circa 1950. The little girl is my sister and she was seven! As I kid, I always thought the Bottle House was neato keen. Next, we are at Disneyland's Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse and you can see my son and I descending the stairs! Judging by my hair and attire, this is circa 1980, LOL. Hope you liked these!

Video Friday

Howdy, folks... Here's your video! And now, a public service announcement.

What do YOU want to see?

Since I am soon to be "unencumbered by employment" (thanks Kenny!), my first photo study is going to be Tom Sawyer's Island. It's been years since I've been on the island and I thought it would be a good use of my time to spend an entire day there, documenting everything I see through my lens.  OK, that plan is set but what do I do after that? I was getting my brain all twisted up in knots...That's when it occurred to me to ask you , my faithful readers, for recommendations of what you want to see through my camera lens!   What are you waiting for? Tell me! Oooh! One more thing. You knew there'd be one more thing... I HAVE to check this out!  Fiesta is this weekend at Disneyland!   When I was a kid, I always wanted to grow up and be the first female Mariachi - my parents thought I was nuts - Mariachis are all male. Not any more, baby! Woohoo, click on THIS !  (As my niece would say, my Mexican is showing, LOL)

Look how gorgeous!

Image
No, not me....*snicker* Look what I saw when I walked into the office this morning.

Musings of the soon to be unemployed

Hmmm....nothing much to report as far as the job search goes. I didn't think it would be worth my time to look during the holidays so now that those are out of the way... I have placed my resume on Monster.com and will start actively searching within the next couple of days. Other than that, I've got lots of ideas for photos I want to take at Disneyland, LOL!

Holy Cow!!

Sorry for the poor quality but you'll be amzed anyway!!! Check out this "Frog Dance".

Quick Evening Visit to Disneyland

Image
I decided to go to the Park after work on Wednesday. Don't worry, I didn't miss Ghost Hunters International - I set my DVR to record the entire series! We begin our visit with the customary clock arrival shot. I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw these flashing balloons!! Had to get Walt's silhouette against the castle. And of course, the carousel always looks gorgeous at night! Oh! Look how much we've done in just a few minutes! Actually, I was surprised that all of the Christmas decorations are gone from the Park except for the Small World Holiday overlay. In line for the Monorail, it occurred to me that I've never really noticed this building for the Autopia before...I guess I need to ride the Monorail more often. You see so much from up there! For those of you who like pictures of the submarines at night... (You know who you are!) Here is a rather retro looking control board for the Monorail. Tomorrowland at night. Lovely - but not as lo

Video Friday

Thought I forgot about it, didn't you??? Sadly, something is killing bats. No, not the ones used in baseball. THESE guys. Now you know more than you did five minutes ago! And now see if you like one of my guilty pleasures... The Paranormal Report!

Recap of My Trip Parts 11 & 12

Image
Hola amigos! Day 11 brings us to....our departure from Walt Disney World :-( As we were leaving, we saw one of the trains being brought into service. I know I've already posted these but it was such a cool opportunity that we happened upon so here they are again! Once we got home, unpacked, did laundry, caught up on email...all that regular every day stuff...I was hungry and DEMANDED to be taken to Cracker Barrel . I love that place. Yes. I feasted on breakfast. For dinner . That brings Day 11 to a close. The next day was to be my last day in Florida. We went to the town of Ocala to have dinner and to see their Christmas lights . I had a super terrific wonderful trip!!! Thanks for following my exploits!
