Breakfast at the Park Part 3

Image
While all the construction is going on for the Pirate movie premiere, the Mark Twain is hidden away...can you spot her in these pics? None of the watercraft are running - not the canoes, the rafts, the Columbia...just the ducks! Now this was a photo op I could not pass up. Here is a grown man sitting in a stroller, texting! This is a nice balcony over Zocalo that I never noticed before. I decided to wander around Zocalo just because the flowers were so pretty. I love to see this area full of dancers. Apparently right now it's not. Full of dancers, that is. Guess what? Tomorrow we continue with part 4!

Breakfast in the Park Part 2

Image
OK, now that I've had my breakfast, let's continue taking pictures! I am thinking that this is going to be the giant screen they'll need to show the movie, right? Here's a nice close-up. Look at all that stuff ! More stuff! They even have divers! Here's the view from the Mansion side of the river... The divers are in the water now... Splash Mountain is down for rehab...I stuck my camera through a fence for this "glorious" shot. In a couple of days you'll see a backstage shot where all the logs are being kept.   Just one more thing....here's my new baby! How do you like my wallpaper? Come back tomorrow for part 3.

Breakfast at the Park Part 1

Image
I decided to go to Disneyland for breakfast on the spur of the moment. I should have known that a few things would attract my attention and delay my meal! Here the band is playing - a great way to greet guests! The flowers on Main Street are so pretty! Holy smokes, the merchandise for computers and iPhones made me drool. I really want an iPhone now! I was glad to see some touch-up work being done on Main Street. The wait times weren't bad at all! Why is the Columbia docked in such a strange location??? Upon getting closer, I see something is going on.... A bridge??? Wait a minute.... OH! There in the distance...see it? It looks like bleachers. Must be for the Pirates premiere . I'll take more pictures later - I'm hungry! Come back tomorrow for Part 2.

Disneyland Ducks

Image
Walking by the Tarzan Treehouse, I chuckled when I noticed these ducks napping while standing on one leg in the water. As we started to make our way down Main Street, I quickly snapped this shot so you could see how uncrowded the Park was!

2011 Disneyland Merchandise

Image
My son and I were at the Park on Sunday and I noticed that there was a LOT of merchandise with a 2011 logo. Could these possibly be leftovers from New Year's Day? Maybe not. I got the feeling "the suits" were hoping that people visiting the Parks on Spring Break would buy something to remember the year of their visit. What do you think? I almost bought this first item. At first glance, it is a backpack...and it turns into a sweatshirt! While this last item doesn't say 2011, it is cool because it's got Walt's face!!! Tomorrow's post will feature a few more photos from Sunday.

Three Fences Revisited

Image
My son and I spent most of the day at Disneyland on Easter Sunday and I was explaining to him the significance of the three fences. There is a very pretty grape vine growing on it now so I thought I'd share it with y'all.

DISNEY AUCTION!!

Are any of you familiar with a show called Profiles in History?  It's a cool show about collectibles and auctions. If you love Disney....get your checkbooks ready...wait till you see this ! I have to say, my jaw hit the ground when I saw some of the items up for auction. There is a link that lets you download the complete catalog - WOW!! If only I were rich!

I've always liked this picture so I thought I'd share. I hope everyone has a happy Easter. As for me, my son and I are meeting at Disneyland!

Disneyland 1963

You never know what you'll find when you Google something. Here for your enjoyment is a page I found that shows the burning settlers cabin engulfed in flames.. Disneyland 1963 . At the bottom of the page is a brief description of where the pictures came from.

Rivers of America run dry.

Don't believe me? Watch this video from October 1970.

Found this on YouTube - Enjoy! From the video poster: Selections from official Disneyland super 8 films restored as best I can and an added soundtrack.

Redwood Creek Challenge

Image
I am out of commission. Well, sort of... I promised a friend I'd walk her dog THREE times a day so I am pretty much stuck at home this week. No Disneyland, boo hoo! In the meantime, here's a video about the Redwood Creek Challenge at DCA.

Walking AROUND Disneyland

Image
Nope, not inside but outside, around the Park! Who's bright idea was that?? Normally, I document my arrival time. Today it's my departure time! I left the Mickey and Friends parking structure and crossed the street to begin my walk. Here you see the parking structure in the distance and Disneyland is to my right. I'm including these here because it's not every day you get a shot at the parking structure, right? I mean, you're usually driving by and can't stop to shoot a photo. This one needs some explaining....behind the screen is a mini nursery. Lots of plants and pots. Still walking, still looking back at the parking structure! I have finally rounded the corner and I am on Ball Road near the Team Disney Building. That is the castmember parking structure you see in the background. Now we've crossed the street and begin our climb up to the bridge that goes over the 5 freeway. Do you see it? Do you see the smiley face in the window? Every tim
