Theft at DCA

When:   November 15, 2014 Location: Disney California Adventure, Tower of Terror Fastpass machines Time: 7:00 p.m. My friend and her whole family were at DCA for a night of fun. Unfortunately, it turned into a night of frustration and sadness. My friend’s sister, Kim, was attempting to get fastpasses for Tower of Terror and placed her iPhone on top of the fastpass machine.   The machine would not dispense a ticket so she turned to the next machine. At that moment, someone took her phone. When she turned back, she noticed the phone was gone. A man, dressed all in black was standing by the fastpass machine and she thought he was a maintenance worker. She asked him if he had seen her phone and he immediately got defensive and said, “I didn’t take your phone…Look, I only have mine!” When she began to tell her family members that the phone disappeared, the man stepped forward and insisted that she use his phone to call hers in an effort to locate it. Meanwhile, Kim’s mo...

Mission Visit

Image
A couple weeks ago, I was in Mission Viejo and it was such a beautiful day that I decided to spend it outside but where? The mission! I drove down to San Juan Capistrano and spent the afternoon exploring the mission. Yes, I had been there before to see a Zorro exhibit back in June of 2010, but this time I was alone and could take my time wandering...and listening to the recorded stories on a cool little device that is now included with admission to the mission. I was amazed at the amount of restoration that had been accomplished since my last visit. I found the mission to be quite peaceful. Several times I sat down to just look and listen. I didn't have my regular camera with me so all of these were taken with my phone. We're not done.....more pics to come!

A day at DCA

Image
Long time no see!!! I know I haven't been around for a while and I apologize for that. Things have been hectic in my world but I finally found some time to go to the Parks. On November 1st, I spent the day at DCA so I'll share those pics with you now. OK, pop quiz - Where are these next two items located? I don't know if they are new but I noticed them for the first time so naturally I had to take a picture of them. (Answer: They are located right at the entrance to the bathrooms next to Off The Page however, as you approach the bathrooms, they are behind you. Maybe that's why I never noticed them before!) Doing some window shopping in Off The Page, I came across some magnificent Maleficent items. I especially dig this one since it's made entirely of PAPER! Inside the Beast's library... As you can see, Bugs Land is ready for Christmas! The view just caught my eye... Now it's time for a Sangria break! Over in Par...

Holiday Merchandise?

Image
Holy smokes, give me a break! I know that some of you like to shop early but I think this is crazy!  It's not even Halloween and Christmas merchandise has invaded the Parks! There is an assortment of sweaters, sweatshirts, pajamas and a T-shirt or two and this was just a sampling of what was found on Main Street. *shaking my head*

Happiest Haunts Tour

Image
Did you know that Disneyland offers the Happiest Haunts Tour? Neither did I until a few months ago. A friend of mine from out of state was coming to visit and she told me she wanted to go on the tour. We went and thoroughly enjoyed it. I did a write up on it for Disney by Mark and you can see the pics and read the article by clicking here . I hope you enjoy it!

Halloween Arrives at Disneyland Part Two

Image
Back again - I never tire of this place - This time to take a good look at some of those wonderful details that so many never notice. I returned to the Park on Friday, September 26th just a few minutes after opening. The window displays at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream shop always make me smile and this time was no exception. Look at this pumpkin carved with an exact replica of the logo! I heard singing behind me and turned around to see the Dapper Dans. I walked up and down Main Street for a while and then started taking pictures again. Let's get back to those windows at the Gibson Girl, shall we? I zoomed in on this assortment of vintage decorations. Aren't they cool? The table is set for Halloween sundaes and other goodies. I love the hat! I stepped into the Fortuosity Shop looking for new merchandise. I found something interesting! I realize that since these pants are on a hanger, the design is upside down but you can still see that...
