Hovering above the Jungle Cruise

I'll bet you're wondering how I managed to get on the roof of the Jungle Cruise building to get this shot, right?

And this one, right? Look again. These are miniatures at the Disneyland Hotel. Sadly, this too will soon be history.

Aren't these amazing in their detail??

My friends and I played with these great boats one last time.

I hope these end up somewhere neat...where people can appreciate them
and not stuck in a warehouse. More photos tomorrow, folks.

With each of your post, I continue to be sadden by the impending removal of so much beauty and memory. Progress, no manner how positive (maybe) is a sadness that can only be endured, never embraced by anyone who loves the suspension of belief that all things Disney brings.

Like you, I hope these find a good "home" somewhere, as they really are cool. I've never "played" with the boats, but I have often admired the theming and attention to detail.

Upside down Christmas Trees?

We interrupt our Disneyland visit to bring you a few pics from Tom's Farms . Ever heard of it? Unless you live in Southern California, probably not. It's a neato keen place and I really dig it. I had not been there in 10 years so it was high time I paid them a visit. They have tons of outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. MLB Food Fest

The Food Fest was held at The Reef in Downtown LA. Each person got this bracelet with an RFID chip. That chip would keep track of the food offerings you selected inside and once you reached your limit, it would no longer work. A list of the beers being offered. The first thing I tried was Bhan Mi which consisted of slab bacon, asian slaw, sriracha mayo and a hot dog bun. Then I tired the Wisconsin Ultimate Cheese Fry which consisted of craft beer fries, cheddar cheese sauce, cheddar cheese curds, apple wood smoked bacon and minced chives. Next up were the Sisig Fries which consisted of sisig marinated chicken, Fresno chiles, fried yams, sriracha cilantro crema over fries. While I was in line for the Elote Nuggets, I took a short video so you could see the Food Fest. These were my favorite! Elote Nuggets consisting of corn nuggets, queso cotija, cayenne mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Fish and Chips from London! Batt
