So I saw Pirates last night....

...and several of you have asked for my review. Well...

It was good but it did seem a bit slow in spots - lots of dialogue between Capt. Jack and others but I guess it was needed to give you insight into their "back story". All in all, it was good. I did not sit there wondering when the movie was going to end. (To me, that's an indicator that a movie ain't that great, LOL.) I would like to see it again, just to make sure I understood certain parts! Oh!  I spotted a hidden Mickey on one of the ships!!!!  Unfortunately, I didn't stay through the credits - I was outvoted by my family and I guess I'm the only geek that watches the credits - so I have no idea if there was any little surprise as in the previous movies.

I thought Penelope Cruz was great in her role as were all of the actors. Very good cast and I didn't miss "those other two" AT ALL! To wrap it up, go see it. It's good.

Lucky for you I am a Disney nerd: at the end of the credits they show Angelica (Penelope) sitting on the beach at waters edge of her deserted island when up washes the Jack voo doo doll to which she grabs with delight

Upside down Christmas Trees?

We interrupt our Disneyland visit to bring you a few pics from Tom's Farms . Ever heard of it? Unless you live in Southern California, probably not. It's a neato keen place and I really dig it. I had not been there in 10 years so it was high time I paid them a visit. They have tons of outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. MLB Food Fest

The Food Fest was held at The Reef in Downtown LA. Each person got this bracelet with an RFID chip. That chip would keep track of the food offerings you selected inside and once you reached your limit, it would no longer work. A list of the beers being offered. The first thing I tried was Bhan Mi which consisted of slab bacon, asian slaw, sriracha mayo and a hot dog bun. Then I tired the Wisconsin Ultimate Cheese Fry which consisted of craft beer fries, cheddar cheese sauce, cheddar cheese curds, apple wood smoked bacon and minced chives. Next up were the Sisig Fries which consisted of sisig marinated chicken, Fresno chiles, fried yams, sriracha cilantro crema over fries. While I was in line for the Elote Nuggets, I took a short video so you could see the Food Fest. These were my favorite! Elote Nuggets consisting of corn nuggets, queso cotija, cayenne mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Fish and Chips from London! Batt
