Buena Vista Street - The Stores

I decided to peek into the Los Feliz Five and Dime and was drawn in. I found that these stores flow from one to the next, just like the ones on Disneyland's Main Street.

As a child, my family would makes trips to downtown Los Angeles to shop so I have very vivid memories of what those fabulous stores looked like, both inside and out. I was anxious to check out Buena Vista Street to see for myself if these recreations measured up.

WOW! Yes, they did!

Gorgeous tile work and crown molding everywhere.

And then...I got distracted by the merchandise!

See those hats in the previous photo? Ya, they are GREAT. Watch this video and you'll see what I mean.

What was I doing in here? Oh ya, checking out the store interior...but something is pulling me back outside.

After admiring the cool window display...

... my attention is pulled by the Hyperion Bridge. I love it!

Looking up to my left, I notice a very cool balcony.

I am falling in love with all the details on Buena Vista Street.

Much to my surprise, they have even recreated the lights that used to be on the sidewalks!!

That's it for now but I'll be back soon

Fabulous photos Connie. I so want to go here...but it's a long way.
Love the store front area. Your picture of the walk-in floor tile - just like the old stores in downtown Whittier, with the glass front showcase areas. This is where I went shopping with my parents back in the 1950's, very early 60's. When I was in CA in 2009 I took a photo of one of the stores that still had the "Kirby Shoes" embedded in the tile on the ground, but was a gift shop or something now. I love when they preserve these things.
Anyway I digress..again your pictures are awesome. Lights in the sidewalk...be still my heart :)

Good stuff C., as always I love how you draw me into each store, nook and corner you have an eye for. I have mentioned it before but I just love how you seem to capture such interesting reflections in the windows.
Thanks for all of the additional cool details!
