Carthay Circle Part 1

Quick note: I am trying out a new layout which gives you, the reader, a choice as to how to view my posts. I hope you like it. I've had fun experimenting with the different views.

The walls were down and I got a great look at the outside of this gorgeous new addition to DCA! Get comfortable because there are TONS of pictures for your drooling pleasure.

I arrived at DCA a bit dismayed at the crowds. I even asked the castmember at the turnstiles what was going on and she didn't know!

My main goal was to make my way to the Carthay Circle Theater but on the way I noticed that renovations are still being made to the outside of Taste Pilots Grill.

OK, folks, there she is! I had to stop myself from running over there, LOL.

Looking to the right...I love the overcast sky. It made this building look so cool.

At first I was a bit perplexed as to how to best shoot this without those pesky electrical lines and then realized - DUH, they are supposed to be there! After all, this is 1929, right?

I noticed this inside the rail tracks. Neat detail, right. But wait till you see what I spotted next.

A few steps from the bronze plaque, I saw this - with a hand print!

OK, let's get back the the Carthay Circle!

All I have to say is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous in every detail!

The tile work is exquisite! And I love the look of the galvanized metal drain pipe! Normally, I'd say yuck but here, it fits!

One of two "ticket booths". I wonder if members of the exclusive Club 1901 will use this to check in?

This is for you lighting geeks, myself included.

These castmembers were greeting the public and handing out cards. I loved their costumes. Oh and the card? You'll see that next.

As promised, here is Disney gold, LOL. Should I put this on ebay?????

Let's get back to the building and all the cool details.

Looking down the hall to the left...

This says it all.

Here's another shot for you lighting geeks.

One of the many cool windows and tile work.

Come back tomorrow for part 2!

Cool post but I love the new web page layout...very cool.
Whoa, the new layout threw me! It took me a second to figure out what I was looking at, ha ha! It's good though... maybe I'm getting tired of my boring old layout.
