I wish I was more like Mom

My mom ALWAYS looked her best. It didn't matter if we were just going to the supermarket or if she was going to a dance with my dad, she made sure she looked her best. Unfortunately, I didn't take after her. Maybe it's because I was a teen in the 70's and it was "old fashioned" to be a slave to beauty. Hell, I even went through one whole year of high school without shaving my legs, a fact that my sister never lets me forget! (I know, WHAT was I thinking???) Anyway, I used to tease my mom because every day around 4:30 p.m. she would rush to put on fresh makeup and fix her hair in anticipation of my father's arrival. Now, I see the wisdom in that. Back then, I didn't. If you've been following this blog, you know that I am going through mountains of photos and scanning my favorites. I love this photo of my mom. I don't know when it was taken, probably before she got preggers with me so let's say early 1950s? It's a great photo of a great lady.
