Tom Sawyer's Island Part 2

Today we continue our journey up the other side of the island. Are you ready? Let's go!!!

Oh, wait... Before we start heading up on this side, there's the little matter of pirate treasure. Lots of it!

The kids were going crazy with this stuff!


 Looking back at the fort...and I'm dying to start climbing on rocks!


WHY do people feel compelled to do this to a tree???


My walk continues and I spy another area that is begging for exploration.

I never, ever knew they had an elevator at the fort!

I never paid attention to how many bridges there are on the island.




We continue our exploration...


Oh man, those stairs are just calling to me!



Must...keep...walking...


Really?


And not a soul in sight!

That's it for today folks. No, we haven't gotten to the front of the island yet - there's LOTS to see on this side of the island!!

Don't do it, Connie! Don't enter the bridge through the exit! The Cavalry-dressed security guards will throw you off the island if they catch you! Actually....does Island security even dress like that anymore? I know they still do at Tokyo DL.

Maybe those long things are supposed to be bars of gold? They look like loaves of bread.

I'm still enjoying this series, but I miss the old TSI that had a Fort Wilderness that we could actually explore and I miss Castle Rock too!

Upside down Christmas Trees?

We interrupt our Disneyland visit to bring you a few pics from Tom's Farms . Ever heard of it? Unless you live in Southern California, probably not. It's a neato keen place and I really dig it. I had not been there in 10 years so it was high time I paid them a visit. They have tons of outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. I had a great bacon cheeseburger and then walked off my lunch by window shopping. A life sized Santa! (And he looks a bit creepy the way he's standing there. "Hey baby.." MLB Food Fest

The Food Fest was held at The Reef in Downtown LA. Each person got this bracelet with an RFID chip. That chip would keep track of the food offerings you selected inside and once you reached your limit, it would no longer work. A list of the beers being offered. The first thing I tried was Bhan Mi which consisted of slab bacon, asian slaw, sriracha mayo and a hot dog bun. Then I tired the Wisconsin Ultimate Cheese Fry which consisted of craft beer fries, cheddar cheese sauce, cheddar cheese curds, apple wood smoked bacon and minced chives. Next up were the Sisig Fries which consisted of sisig marinated chicken, Fresno chiles, fried yams, sriracha cilantro crema over fries. While I was in line for the Elote Nuggets, I took a short video so you could see the Food Fest. These were my favorite! Elote Nuggets consisting of corn nuggets, queso cotija, cayenne mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Fish and Chips from London! Batt
