Taking care of business

Today I am driving out to Irvine to register for the CHOC Walk. Yay! Then, I will grab a sandwich and drive over to Crystal Cove State Beach to have a nice, leisurely lunch. Then....guess where I'm headed? You're probably thinking Disneyland, right? Nope. I'm going to Knott's Berry Farm. That's right - gotta go check out their Halloween decorations...and take pictures, of course!

Oh last night I was a guest on a podcast and we discussed GHOSTS. I will let you know when that episode is released.

It's been decades since I've been to Knott's.
Remember the little strip where Bob's Men's store was? I think there was a leather shop too. Across from where you waited in line for the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. If any of that is still there I would love a picture. The year my husband and I were engaged (1970) he worked at the restaurant frying chicken. I used to wait around in the covered line area for him to get a break/off work. I bought him a fleece lined cordoroy jacket one Christmas from Bob's. Lots of good memories for me :)

Upside down Christmas Trees?

We interrupt our Disneyland visit to bring you a few pics from Tom's Farms . Ever heard of it? Unless you live in Southern California, probably not. It's a neato keen place and I really dig it. I had not been there in 10 years so it was high time I paid them a visit. They have tons of outdoor seating and it's a great place to people watch. I had a great bacon cheeseburger and then walked off my lunch by window shopping. A life sized Santa! (And he looks a bit creepy the way he's standing there. "Hey baby.." MLB Food Fest

The Food Fest was held at The Reef in Downtown LA. Each person got this bracelet with an RFID chip. That chip would keep track of the food offerings you selected inside and once you reached your limit, it would no longer work. A list of the beers being offered. The first thing I tried was Bhan Mi which consisted of slab bacon, asian slaw, sriracha mayo and a hot dog bun. Then I tired the Wisconsin Ultimate Cheese Fry which consisted of craft beer fries, cheddar cheese sauce, cheddar cheese curds, apple wood smoked bacon and minced chives. Next up were the Sisig Fries which consisted of sisig marinated chicken, Fresno chiles, fried yams, sriracha cilantro crema over fries. While I was in line for the Elote Nuggets, I took a short video so you could see the Food Fest. These were my favorite! Elote Nuggets consisting of corn nuggets, queso cotija, cayenne mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Fish and Chips from London! Batt
