DCA for Mother's Day!

I had my choice of going anywhere I wanted :-) I've wanted to try the Trattoria 4-EVER!!! So that's where we went! First we munched on some heavenly bread, dipping it in oil and vinegar. So good. I had a glass of wine but my son tried a Pear Martini. Yes, I tasted it. YUMMO! We both ordered the Shrimp Scampi. Can I say that we talked about that meal for HOURS??? It was delicious. No, BEYOND delicious. We decided that we have to go back and have it again! I'm not kidding when I say that meal impressed us. For the rest of the day, we would find ourselves standing in line, lost in thought and then one of us would say, "That food was REALLY good!" After our meal we strolled over to Mickey's Fun Wheel - my son had never been on it. He informed me that he has never, ever been on a Ferris Wheel! (See, that's what happens when mom is afraid of heights.) For once, my brain was actually working and I remembered that I wanted my son to see the Aladdin show ...

I was waling around Frontierland and spotted this little girl looking at her Disneyland map. I was immediately enchanted by her. She looked adorable as she studied her map, trying to decide where to go next! There is a lot to see in Frontierland, besides the obvious. Like plants, for instance. I went up to the balcony of the Golden Horseshoe and took this from the window. I decided to sit down and wait for the show... I had not seen this particular group of Billies and they were quite funny. Incredible musicians, too! All photos taken April 10, 2011.  More tomorrow! So I was visiting family last night and the gene...

As usual, my obligatory shot of the Main Street Station so I can see what time I arrived, LOL. Sitting on the porch of City Hall, watching the "towns people"... Sorry this is so dark but I was VERY surprised to see FOUR trasnportation vehicles on Main Street at the same time. You know what that means: CROWDS! My friends and I decide to have lunch at the Carnation Cafe, which is one of my favorite places to eat at Disneyland. Something about all of these umbrellas appealed to me. Patiently waiting for my lunch. The smile belies the starving, snarling, growling bear of hunger I am hiding like the true lady that I am, LOL! I had already devoured 1/4 of the sandwich before I realized I had not taken a picture of my lunch. After lunch, we strolled over to Frontierland and while my friends shopped, I watched the band. Let's go ride the Columbia! We got there just as the ship was leaving so we waited for the next vo...
