Disneyland Hotel - Missing the Waterfalls

Image
Quite a while back I did a couple of posts about the old waterfalls that used to be on the grounds of the hotel. I really miss those waterfalls. They provided a magical atmosphere to the grounds - at least to me. I was reminiscing about those waterfalls so I made a visit to the hotel to walk the grounds and remember an area that filled me with wonder when I was a child. I know I'm not alone. I know that there are many of you that feel the same way and probably have not been to the hotel since everything changed. There was nobody in front of these topiary so I had to snap a picture! The hotel is looking mighty spiffy nowadays. I am on the prowl for cats... Still looking for those kitties while I make my way to the wedding gazebo. Oh look! I guess my invite got lost in the mail. Isn't it a beautiful setting? I continued towards the former site of the waterfalls. This is what is there now. I made a brief stop at the outdoor fireplace before he...

I guess you could say that I'm feeling nostalgic. I am giving each one of you permissiion to bop me on the head for not taking video when I did my waterfall photo report. What a knucklehead!!! Oh well...at least we can look at these videos I found on YouTube. Thanks to all who did the filming. You'll never know just how much I appreciate it. For those of you who are new to this blog, you can see my previous posts here and here .

Disneyland Hotel Waterfalls continued...

We continue our little tour below...   Above you see that I'm still in my favorite little alcove, looking to the exit stairs on my left. I love this place and wish it didn't have to disappear. :-( Once outside, I take a picture of my friend, Pete, taking my picture, LOL .  I could stand here for hours....I love the sound of water. Simply magnificent.

We interrupt this tour...

It occurred to me last night that since this is MY blog, I can post my adventures in any order I like. So I am interrupting the Union Station tour to bring you a series of shots taken last night (6-24-10) of the Disneyland Hotel area that is soon to be history. Very sad, I know. OK, we begin with a look around the water falls... This area is so darn pretty... I hear they are once again renaming the buildings of the hotel. My friend, Pete, is crying because one of his favorite areas is being demolished. As you can see, I'm not happy, either. I'll post more shots tomorrow. I took a total of 76 pictures last night!
