Life is a Journey

A good friend of mine was in town recently and since we had not seen each other in approximately 10 years, we met for dinner at DCA. But not just any dinner, oh no. She treated me to a World of Color dinner package. Let me tell you something right off the bat - if you have not does this, DO IT. Everyone should do this at least once. I will tell you all about it but first let's start at the beginning. I was to meet my friend at the Wine Country Trattoria but the parade was in full swing when I got to DCA. I squeezed my way through the crowd and got as far as I could go but I had to wait for the parade to end. While I was waiting, I was looking at the Paradise Pier lagoon and thought to myself, "Gee, that would be a nice shot." so I whipped out my phone and took the following picture. I shared it on Instragram but added a filter and the result is the second photo. I like them both equally.  The parade was coming to an end so I snapped a couple of pic...

WARNING! Go to the bathroom before reading this post - it's a long one!! Last Saturday, my friends from Florida as well as my sister and brother-in-law decided to get in touch with our inner Tiki and met for dinner at Bahooka . This place is so cool. I have to say that the food was nothing special - adequate at best but that's not why you go to Bahooka. You go there to be totally immersed in the Tiki experience. I will apologize ahead of time for the quality of some of these photos but I included them so that you could get an idea of how great this place is. There are aquariums EVERYWHERE and that really adds to the atmosphere. As we were being led to our table (which was in a jail cell) we walked by Captain Jack! Here is a shot of the menu. My pulled pork sandwich. I know somebody out there didn't go to the bathroom like they were supposed to! You better go now. I love what they did with these antique gas pumps! I think there were four of five of them....

Thanks for sticking with me on this CHOC Walk Tour! This will be the last post so get comfortable and enjoy the tour. Walking into DCA we are greeted by ElecTRONical People! I'm anxious to see the movie but I don't get these guys....guess I have to wait until the movie comes out. Here is Flick and Princess Atta with a very happy guest! Now this caught my eye...it's a switch/signal for the new cable cars! I don't know what it's really called but I do know it's a train thing, LOL! Guess where we go next? Backstage! I am assuming that this construction stuff is related to Carlsland because it is right next to.... THIS!  Can you make out what it is??? You can barely see through this covered fence at the Carsland construction. Talk about a teaser! We leave the backstage area and end up in Bug's Land... Look closely...there are berries of some kind growing here. Hmm, I hear an engine roaring... It's Lightening McQueen and his groupie! Mater has one, ...
