Gone But Not Forgotten!

Image
So many things have changed at DCA that sometimes when I talk about something that used to be there, I get blank stares from people. They look at me as if I am hallucinating because they don't remember what I'm talking about. This post is for you! I thought the original entry was very unique. And beautiful. And unique. I wonder where all those individually hand made tiles ended up? Ah, the Golden Gate Bridge's southern twin. Lovely to look at whether it was holiday time or summer time. Or even Miller time. This was a pretty clever sign, don't you think? Ah the tortilla factory. Never did I think it would eventually be gone. I miss those warm tortillas. "Maseca!" I am so glad I shot this mural because I always liked it and well, I liked it! Before the Little Mermaid moved in.   Yet another gorgeous mural. The Sun Wheel....who can forget that? Finally, Brother Bear or bears as the case may be. Sti...

She was a beauty.

Who? The Sun Wheel, of course. I always loved the look of this attraction and while I adore Mickey's face, this just had a nostalgic look to it. Behind the Sun Wheel you can see the Mali Boomer which I hated. Many a heated debate has been sparked by that attraction - you either love it or you hate it!

We start off the day with a quick stop at DCA ... This has undergone major changes and will soon be the entrance to the Little Mermaid attraction! Now let's see how my ancestors made tortillas...and get a free one, too! The good old Sun Wheel. The castle has a smattering of snow on the roof. Time to check out the Tiki Gods. Kinda makes you want a Dole Whip, don't it? And now a little something different !

One gone, one going soon...

Well,  as much as I adore Mickey Mouse, it's kinda sad to look at this and know that I have a photograph of something that no longer "is". I haven't been to DCA in a couple of months but tomorrow morning I am going - rain or no rain, I am GOING! As for the second photo...I don't even know if this guy is still there. I hope he is...for one last photo.
