Life is a Journey

FINALLY! If you are wondering how long it's been since I've been to Disneyland, I can tell you exactly:  327 days!!! That is waaaay too long for someone like me. After walking through the turnstile, I went into auto pilot and took my traditional photo of the train station to mark my arrival time. As noted in yesterday's post, I took a seat in front of City Hall and took a few minutes to absorb the sounds of Main Street. Yes, I was finally here! I slowly meandered up Main Street, happy that the Park was not crowded. I was starving and wanted to get something to eat but once I saw the Emporium, I knew I had to check out the Halloween merchandise! It did not disappoint. Look at all that cool stuff!!! Oh, if only I had endless sources of $$$! This wine bottle stopper was to die for. So darn cool. And the shirts? Oh man, I could have spent BIG BUCKS! This coffin candy container is adorable...and the look on Goofy's face is pricel...

A few shots from my late afternoon/evening visit to Disneyland back in February 2006. When I lived in Irvine it was easy to run down to the Park after work. I stopped and admired the Opera House for quite a while after taking this photo. It looks so pretty in the sunlight.  Yes, Virginia, Disneyland has flowers in February! WHAT? Only one solitary stroller??????????? I must be in the Twilight Zone. The last of the sun hitting the Big Thunder peaks before it sets. Somewhere, I have a similar shot showing the moon in the night sky.

People constantly ask me: "Why do you go to Disneyland so much?" "Because I love it." "Don't you get tired of seeing the same thing over and over?" *insert heavy sigh here* They just don't get it. There is soooo much to see at Disneyland if you only take the time to LOOK. A fellow blogger wrote a great post on this very subject here . That, in turn, inspired me to write this post and offer my little example of why I never get tired of going to Disneyland. This little gem is quite a beauty. Now, click on this photo so you can see the large version. Go ahead, I'll wait.... la dee da...waiting...waiting.... Can you believe the detail??? Out of the THOUSANDS of guests that go to the Park every day, how many do you know that stop and look up? Not many, I can assure you. And yet, look at what they are missing!
