Life is a Journey

I love that new Marvel movies come out around Mother's Day! My son got VIP tickets to the El Capitan in Hollywood and we went to see The Avengers. MAN!! That movie was incredible! Here is a video I took on Periscope for a live Twitter stream. I thought you might want a glimpse of the area if you've never been. Guess what? Thor was posing for pics! After the movie, we went down to the basement to check out the displays! It was a great way to spend Mother's Day!

Oh man, what a GOOD movie!!! My son took me to the El Capitan and we had a great time. He was very impressed by the movie which surprised me because it takes a lot to impress him! A few days ago, I posted some photos of the Snow White Cafe which is about 2 blocks from the El Capitan but I wanted to save my Maleficent photos for a separate blog post. One of the advantages of waiting to see the movie is that we had the ENTIRE display area to ourselves! That was so much fun! I thought the 3D was very good; not too crazy and it didn't give me a headache. I want to see the movie again and I will soon

That's something you don't see every day...Mary Poppins and Maleficent in the same sentence! I wanted to share some pictures with you of my friend's daughter. Her name is Charisma and she is adorable. One day, she saw Mary Poppins in the park and nearly melted with adoration for her as you can see in the photo below. A few weeks later, that same adorable little girl excitedly attended the midnight showing of Maleficent on opening day, in costume, ready to take on the world. You'll see what I mean in a bit but first, here's a look at the awesome marquee at the El Capitan.  i My friend and her party were one of the first to be seated. It's Muppet time again! The movie was great. Really, really great and I laughed almost through the entire thing! Once it ended, we all went down to the display area to check out the movie props. I got the biggest kick out of Miss Piggy's costumes, shoes and all!   We went across the street to get something to eat and I had my son take this shot with his phone because I didn't feel like digging my camera out of my purse, LOL.   I'll be back with pictures of our chocolate adventure!

My son surprised me Friday night and told me that we were going to the El Capitan to see the Muppets! Yay! Our seats were up on the balcony and this view stopped me dead in my tracks - how often do you see an empty area in the El Capitan? And then of course I was distracted by the beauty of the ornate sconces.   The pre-show has begun and I only took two shots because I could feel daggers on me. Eye daggers. Don't worry, I'll be back with more.

Who doesn't love the El Capitan? It is GORGEOUS both inside and out. I did not go see Herbie when it was playing there but I have seen the Lion King, Bugs' Life and Up in that wonderful old theater. I took this shot from across the street. And now, I'd like to say goodbye to an old friend. I only visited her twice but she had atmosphere to infinity and beyond!
