More Train Stuff

I know that many people have shared photos from the "other side" of the tracks at the New Orleans Train Station but this was my first visit to this location since the trains stopped running at Disneyland. It was just so darn cool to actually be on the other side of the tracks and explore the structures.   I was fascinated by this ornate door hardware. This is what I love about Disneyland. The details are everywhere and yet some hardly ever get noticed.   But the highlight of this visit was getting to blow the train whistle, LOL! Next time we'll have views from the Tarzan Treehouse!

Disneyland Train Stations Part 4

Frontierland!! Before you get to the Frontierland Station, you pass a nice little set-up that hasn't changed much over the years. This suggests Mardi Gras floats, thus making you think of New Orleans! As the train was pulling into the station, I leaned back and took this picture of the buildings that are behind the train. I love this little building...isn't this one that Ward Kimball had in his back yard?? We're getting closer! And closer! Here's a shot looking back where I came from...the "hotel" building. This speaker sure looks old...could it be from 1955? From my seat on the train, I take a shot of the station sign... Here's the other sign... And yet another sign. I know, it's not the Frontierland Station but you sign geeks out there need something to look at, right? Looking out over New Orleans Square... I rode the train all the way around AGAIN...and here is another view of the waiting area. And...here is a good close-u...

ToonTown!! If there wasn't a train sitting there, you might not know this was a train station as you approach! Getting closer... Ah, there it is, the ToonTown Station! Here's a closer look. Important information for all. At first glance, I thought the bird was part of the lamppost!! But he wasn't...he was just posing for his close-up, LOL. Ceiling detail... The "luggage" waiting to be loaded. From a different angle... I love the way the walls curve. Lots of ironwork here. Adorable weather vane. The train has arrived... ...and left! Here we're looking down the tracks towards Small World. Look closely. There's a lizard on the tracks. I caught the next train - this shot is taken from it. Looking at the station from the train... Still waiting to leave. Still waiting... The sign. We've got one more station to cover:  Frontierland!

Disneyland Train Stations Part 1

I will be doing a few installments on the different train stations in Disneyland so naturally we begin with the Main Street station! These photos were taken over three visits to the Park. This is something you don't want to rush, trust me. Let's begin with a few night shots... OK, so it's not the train station but you can see the ironwork! When I took this, I noticed that the window shades were up so I had to investigate. But first, let's examine the luggage cart. No line the the train... Now, back to those windows! They've got some pretty darn cool items in there! Now I'm back to checking out the exterior of the building.   On a return trip we explore the interior of the building. Anything new in the window? Took several shots of this and couldn't get around that reflective glare. I should have gone back later in the day but...I forgot! Interesting stuff inside this place! I never looked at these before. Oh look at the dufus re...
