Life is a Journey

I love the way Disneyland shops are decorated. Most people never look up - I always do. Today I was leisurely inspecting new merchandise on Main Street and something made me look up. This is not the first time I've taken photos of this chandelier but every time I see it, it's new to me. It's just so darn gorgeous. And then my eyes focused on the items behind it... Can you imagine how much fun it is to go on the hunt for these items? Boy, that's a job I want! Make sure you click on the photo to enlarge it - there's just so many neat things to see. I'm sure that many of these items have been in Disney storage and are rotated seasonally but they always make me smile because I appreciate the detail that is put into an area that many never even notice. And now for a little bit of news... I'm still working which is GOOD. My Internet access is limited which is BAD. Phooey, I say! I am still with The Disneyland Gazette and now I am doing a coup...

To give you an idea of where we were standing to view the parade, Off the Page was behind me, to my right and... ...Award Wieners was in front of me, slightly to my left. Kim Schroeder and Kyle Burbank of The Disneyland Gazette enjoying a rare day off from the rigors of podcasting, LOL. Roz glides down the street to start the parade. I completely cracked up when I noticed that Roz was twirling a baton! Here comes Sulley! Members of the Child Detection Agency. The Incredibles glided by. Here comes Crush! I think this parade is adorable and worth watching. Here's a hint:  Almost all of the floats squirt you with water! Come back for part 2!

I am such a dope! I failed to get a photo of the outside of this restaurant mainly because I was so wrapped up in admiring its coolness along with the AWESOME music that is playing both inside and out. I don't know what it is but at night, it looks incredible! I did manage to record an audio clip for The Disneyland Gazette, at least! If interested, check out our podcast, episode #128 for my audio reports that night. This place is HUGE! I haven't eaten there yet but I plan to! I walked around looking at all of the stuff hanging on the walls because everything was so cool. Again, another part of my history...Silver Lake. I went to school nearby and several of my friends lived in the Silver Lake area. I promise that I'll take pictures of my food when I finally do get to eat here!

It's funny how one casual remark can eventually lead to a big change in someone's life. I feel like telling a story so sit down and don't get up until I'm done. That's an order. About two years ago, my friends, Karen and Peter, were visiting and we were spending a few days at Disneyland together. They started telling me about changes that were to come to the resort and I was blown away by their knowledge. "How do you guys know all this stuff???" I asked. Karen quickly informed me about Disney podcasts. "Huh? What on Earth are podcasts?" I can be a little dense at times so she patiently explained to me that podcasts are like radio shows only you download them from itunes and listen to them at your convenience. I made a mental note to check that out. About a week later I started poking around itunes and naturally wanted to see what I could find in the podcast world on Disneyland. There wasn't much! About 96% revolved around Walt Disney Wo...

Iffin y'all didn't know, I love Mickey Merchandise, especially if it's kitchen related! I took these pictures on August 21st and then promptly forgot to post them. (That happens with age....) Just look at all that COOL stuff! These made me stop in my tracks. Yes, I said tracks. When I arrive at Disneyland I am automatically hooked up to a track system that takes me through all the shops. Deal with it. So I'm looking at these and wondering: What the heck are they??? I touch one and find that it is ceramic-like in texture. Let's zoom in on that card... I saw these signs announcing the new bakery and my mouth started to water, LOL! Oh boy!! Thanks for stopping by!
