Life is a Journey

Hello and welcome back to part 2 of my little weekend adventure! I hope you are comfortable because this is going to be a LONG post! As I said in my last post, we started our Disney weekend with a very nice lunch. OK, I'll show you the buffet at the Bleach Blanket Buffet. Desserts? You know, I've always wanted to go into the "kids only" area known as Oceaneers Club and when we heard they were having an open house, we rushed over there to scope it out. Here is a brief glimpse of what's inside. More exploring.... We walking into Triton's dining-room and I was blown away by the giant mosaic on the wall. I was told that it took four women five months to create it with very small pieces of tile. Amazing! This is where we would be having dinner later that night. See that monitor on the wall? Here is a better view. Not much better but oh well... At 1:30 our cabin was ready so off we went to check it out. Walking ...

King Triton currently sits high atop the Little Mermaid show building over at DCA. But once upon a time, he resided at Disneyland. I always enjoyed stopping by the lagoon when the King was in the neighborhood. I was sad to see him go but I am very glad that he got a new home at DCA. Random photo - August 2005

Warning! Long post!! *grin* These shots were taken yesterday (4-2-11) because I felt like it, so there! I decided to walk to the Park from the parking structure and noticed some work going on at the Disneyland Hotel. Once inside DCA, I was envious of these people having a leisurely lunch in such a lovely setting. (Actually, I was wishing I was sitting there having some wine!) Ooooh, final touches going on! I have to say, it's pretty exciting to see all the changes that have taken place! The new color scheme is gorgeous. The painters were out in full force today. (Or should I say artists???) Another look at King Triton... Look at these details! Now we see a glimpse of the new restaurant area... From across the lagoon you get a nice look at the mountains in Carlsland.
