Halloween Is In The Air! Part 5

Image
And now...a brief visit to Disneyland! I love seeing all the Fall colors in the Park, especially in the planters. Yes, I had to take advantage of this, LOL. I decided to ride the Mark Twain...It was nice to see one of the keel boats. It was also nice to see guests enjoying the island! They have added quite a few Weeping Willows along the shoreline. I think it's a nice touch. It's also a lot easier to see the Fort now. I just wish they would put roofs on the towers so that it at least looks like it used to even if we no longer have access to it. Here is a brief video of some of the noticeable changes along the river. It's been a while since I've been on the island. Seeing these stairs made me want to go back and explore it again.   Now we're chasing The Columbia, LOL!!   It was really hot and muggy so I decided to leave and relax a while in the lobby of the Grand Californian. On my way out, I c...

Tom Sawyer's Island

In recent years the island has been called Pirate's Lair. I still prefer to call it Tom Sawyer's Island. The island has been closed for some time but if all goes well it will reopen in May of 2017 at the same time the Disneyland Railroad become operational again. A part of the island will be missing - gone forever. Back in 2011 I took you on a photo tour of the island. This might be a good time to take a look back and remember how things were because we really have no idea what to expect once it reopens. My nine part series began in February of 2011 and ended in March. So many photos to share! Click here to read that first post. In the coming days I will post links to the rest of the tour because I know interest in the island is growing rapidly and to be honest, since I wasn't on Twitter back then, I didn't get to share this with so Disneyland fans worldwide, lol. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that will appreciate these photos. Have fun on the t...

Festival of Holidays and Disneyland

Image
We are continuing our visit to DCA and the Festival of Holidays, with a quick visit to Disneyland, too! I had to get a close-up of these lights. They are just so darn cool. This blew my mind....can you believe I got a picture of this with NO PEOPLE???? Time to head on over to Disneyland! The Main Street train station was all decked out for the Candlelight Procession. Here's a short clip taken on Main Street. Here are some castle shots because really, you can never have too many castle shots, right? That basically wraps it up for my holiday visit to the Parks. I hope you enjoyed my pics. I recorded a couple of audio clips while I was at DCA and those should be up on the podcast soon.

Christmas Fantasy

Image
I really really really do love the Parks at Christmas!! The other night I went to an Annual Passholder private party at Disneyland and took advantage of the low crowds to grab a great viewing spot for the Christmas Fantasy Parade. I had not seen this parade since 2008 so I was really excited. I found myself wishing I had a decent camera but alas, my cell phone would have to do. The reason for taking pictures and videos was to send them to my very good friend and fellow Disneyland lover who has been living in England for the past 8 years. She loved them! As I was uploading them to my cloud storage, I decided to share them with you and even though they aren't the best quality I think you'll enjoy them. Here's a quick peak at a scene from the new Jingle Cruise. I've been having quite a bit of trouble uploading the rest of the videos so I'll keep trying!

Balloons and Chocolate Easter Eggs

Image
When you think of Disneyland, don't you usually think of balloons and chocolate Easter eggs? Well you should! It was an absolutely perfect day (weather-wise) to go to the Park. Oh, you thought I was going to post pictures of balloons and chocolate Easter eggs? Be patient! I think Spring might be the cheeriest time of year in the Park. I love all those pretty flowers. I really enjoyed the Easter lilies by the flag pole, too. Doesn't this remind you of a magical path to be followed? Let's not forget about the hanging baskets in abundance on Main Street! Guess what? Now it's time for chocolate Easter eggs! I don't remember ever seeing these for sale during previous Easter seasons but they look yummy and I am sure they are a big hit. What's that? You need more chocolate Easter egg goodness? OK, here you go! If you're like me, you enjoy taking in all the little details in Disneylan...
